If you, go to Can Tho in Vietnam, stay at the Victoria Resort Hotel. It's right on the Mekong River, and they have a great walkway along the river. The architecture is reminiscent of Indochina, so it has a wonderful, warm feel. It's much better than the sterile, boxy hotels. Food is excellent and the staff is warm and caring. It's really hot from May until October, so if you have a choice, go between November and April.
If you, go to Can Tho in Vietnam, stay at the Victoria Resort Hotel. It's right on the Mekong River, and they have a great walkway along the river. Darn it! Is there no way to give 6 stars!? We have stayed in many excellent places in the world....and this stands firmly as a world class resort. Located on its own quiet island a short boat ride from the city. The magic begins from the moment you step aboard the resort boat crossing over to the island. We really enjoyed this hotel because of the convenient location, close enough to easily walk to the river, the night market and indoor market, and many places to dine. The rooms were clean and plenty of room with a nice bathroom, although the shower had no door and the whole bathroom got wet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool was clean and refreshing. There was no breakfast. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.
