The positives:
- good size bedroom & shower room and generally clean.
- staff friendly and supportive
The not so good:
- entrance and reception area needs attention
- buffet breakfast was only just warm.
Very clean rooms staff were lovely and friendly.
Downside was buffet breakfast being virtually cold
And extortionate prices for non alcoholic drinks ie
£2.50 for a glass of soda water which was nearly flat.
The hotel is pet friendly which is a bonus for people
Great location in the centre of Buxton.
Old hotel patina about the decor and furnishings.
But all clean and comfortable.
Excellent breakfast with quality ingredients.
Would definitely stay again

The place was clean per se but the upholstery is long stained and tired. Could do with some TLC.
Great location. Exceptional staff.

Excellent welcome from reveptionist Viktoria, and a brief history of this interesting building from manaher.
Comfortable beds, good breakfast in lovely freshly decorated room.
Beautiful building, just a little tired and in need of decoration.
Great for a 3 *** hotel
Charming hotel with in the perfect location for exploring Buxton and the area, gorgeous character features, spacious room four poster a nice touch, loved the old oak furniture, spotlessly clean, fluffy towels and Elemis toiletries.
The dining area is a bit plain and we were let down by the steak albeit it steak night, but the management sorted it out without quibble. Breakfast, breakfast was excellent, what's more the waitresses were all lovely and friendly. Enjoyed our stay and would go back..

Fabulous location, good breakfast but needs more staff working. Some of the hotel needs repairs, but overall charming, with great snippets of history dotted around. Very noisy due to it's age, so recommend ear plugs! Parking directly outside, pay hotel, not the meter.
The Old Hall Hotel is very well situated to local shops, pubs, cafes and just across the road from the Opera House. We booked breakfast with our stay which was good food and choices, it is a traditional English breakfast with cereal, toast, jams, honey and croissants. We have stayed here a few times and would go back again. The building or part of it is very old and has historic charm, it is clean throughout and staff are helpful and friendly. It has history for example Mary Queen of Scots stayed there as did, I was told, Bonnie Prince Charlie.
