"Property is really quiet and reasonable price , cleanliness is ok. Only hardest part is they close reception and it’s too difficult to get staff outside of normal hours for any help for any questions. Rooms could have been little bigger."

"Such a cool spot. Bar and fun downstairs. A few rooms upstairs. A group of guys were jammin out when we got there - bluegrass band. Bartender checked us in and she was awesome and super helpful. Room and bathroom were very clean. Beds were super comfortable."
Shunem Cottage -HCRL

"This little cottage was quite cute and cozy. The bath was a combo toilet and shower with no sink. The bed was comfortable but it's pushed up against the wall, so if you need to get up it will disturb your partner. The living room was warm with it's heater stove. There was a Keurig coffee pot and tea in the room with dishes, pans and a refrigerator. There isn't any cafe except Mary's - which has an excellent view of McKinley and good food, But it's 20 miles south of this property. We didn't come totally prepared to cook, so that was our bad. The lake was peaceful and beautiful. The host was friendly and let us drop our cold stuff in the fridge before our check in time. It is a drive into the National Park, but the State Park is very close."

"This is an off-grid property with beautiful views of mountains and lake, which we only got to enjoy for a short time just as we checked in. Then it rained until the day we left Alaska. It is 1.5 hours from Denali National Park, a nice break for the drive to Denali from Anchorage. The rooms are clean, the host and care-taker are prompt with the communications. Because of rain, we had some wet clothes to launder but the laundry room was locked. Although off-grid, the tap water did not taste bad to drink."

"This was a wonderful little place to stay! The cabin was right down close to the lake, with a private window overlooking it. The bed was comfortable, and the heater worked great. The lodge was very nice, with free coffee, and some snack food for a small cost. My wife and I took the canoe out for a little jaunt around the lake, and it was lovely. So peaceful here. Will come back for sure when we can stay longer. The staff was super friendly, and other visitors too."
