Hotel Riu Palace Baja California - Adults Only - All Inclusive

"Pros: Property and room were very clean; bar and staff were friendly and did a good job being on constant rotation around the pool for providing orders and keeping the pool area clean; alcohol content in cocktails was a little stingy at times, but the options were very good and bar staff would gladly add an extra shot when asked; food options, especially the buffet, was diverse and high quality; not too difficult finding available lounge chairs around the pool anytime of day and the plentiful full shade areas was nice; the housekeeping staff was thorough and friendly; getting a taxi for anywhere off property was convenient in the lobby, but a little spendy as $17-20 US dollars a pop to main Cabo < 2 miles away (see Uber comment in Cons). Cons: The time it took to check-in was obnoxiously long for each group (at least 5 minutes per group) so a line of 5 deep before me left me extremely uncomfortable in the stuffy heat; Uber is cheap and easy to get from off-property to the property, but Riu doesn't provide a convenient pickup location when going somewhere and requires a decently long walk to get picked up; Room Cons-- multiple ac outlets did not work, 1 of the 2 USB ports did not work; daily entertainment was weak with only a few pool activities throughout the day and some mediocre performances in the main theater in the evenings; beach is nice and clean, but too steep to make use of the ocean; a ridiculous number of 3rd party beach vendors got old."

"First time I actually booked all inclusive and I have to say the quality of everything was superb. The staff was proactively helpful and beyond friendly. The only bad encounter was at check-out. One unfriendly, borderline insulting employee left a bad taste at the end. Nevertheless five stars for all the other people."

"Clean room. Beautiful beach. Nice view of Los Arcos. Good resort for family with kids. Half of the restaurants were closed due to time of year. Breakfast was buffet service, variety of options. Lunch and dinner very slow service. Resort staff welcoming and responsive. Some pool service attendants only cater to those ordering alcohol. Also, the air conditioning is not very cool, so it can be difficult to sleep well if you like a colder room. Overall, the resort met our needs for a family with younger children. Property was clean, well-maintained, free WiFi works at pool and around facility. On another note, there is a nightly feature dinner show that people stand in line for up to an hour and a half to get a seat. It would be nice if the resort offered reservations for this."
