"The property and location was amazing. Very clean, excellent room. The communication with managment was lacking. The room needs oil, salt/ pepper and a pan for the oven. Seems like they DONT want you to use the kitchen. The market downstairs and the restaurant at the pool over charges to their own detriment. They charged us for a splash of soda in a mixed drink. What's next ? Charge per ice cube ? The cup and straw ? Silly. The strawberries at the market were 14,500 colones . That's 43 dollars cad. We were one and done for both. Everything else was perfect ."

"Excellent staff. The room was a bit worn out, especially for a 5-star hotel. The internet that operates WiFi, TV and phone was out for about 24 hours, not a good experience and the hotel didn’t make any accommodations. For about $1000 a night, we expected a better experience than that. Again, most of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful."

"Right on the main road and the windows and walls are super thin. Motorcycles racing up and down the road until 1am. We were under the restaurant and every chair that gets moved you can hear as ifd it's in your room. AC shut off in the middle of the night. The place is extremely loud. We actually left and found a different hotel for our 2nd nights stay! Could hear a baby cry for hours multiple rooms down"

"From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff were super unfriendly & not helpful. They did not make eye contact. We asked several staff members where we could find towels & they could only point towards the massive pool. The beach is completely full of people selling things like nothing I’ve ever seen & the vendors are very aggressive in soliciting you. The pool is extremely uninviting with cups and trash left around the pool and the bathroom unusable because it was so dirty. This hotel does not meet normal Westin standards. Thankfully we were able to move to the W next door where everything was wonderful, clean & the staff were amazing and friendly. Rosa made the moving process extremely difficult since she was trying to charge us twice after we were told we would get a full refund for the Westin. Luckily, it was straightened out by the helpful staff at the W. During our stay at the W, we ran into guests of the Westin who were buying day passes at the W for all of the same reasons as noted above - right down to the towels,"

"Absolutely unforgettable stay at Villa Fugata. We absolutely loved our time at this home and were truly sad to leave. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the house, the attention to detail, and how welcoming everything felt.The home itself is beautiful, spacious, and spotless. The pool area was stunning and incredibly well cared for, and the extra amenities made such a difference — pool toys, games, books, and thoughtful touches like beach bags that made our stay so easy and enjoyable. Bilitis went above and beyond. She is incredibly kind, accommodating, and was extremely easy to work with. She is simply the best and made our stay extra special, we were quite impressed with the fact that there was a bottle of champagne and chocolate brought up to the house on my birthday.The location of the house is perfect with gorgeous views, close to everything, yet peaceful and quiet at night.We would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Costa Rica and would not hesitate to stay here again.
