Kayak Cottage is a gently sloping, lakefront property with a private covered boat dock. This cottage is nestled in the peaceful Carriage Cove subdivision right off the main channel of beautiful Lake Barkley. Our cottage is perfect for couples and families to spend quality time together. We are located approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from Nashville, TN and 1/2 hour from the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the screened-in porch while taking in the the beautiful sunrise. Explore the natural surroundings while kayaking around the tranquil cove, with FOUR kayaks/paddles/lifejackets provided. Or, simply relax and enjoy some fishing on the boat dock. Don't forget to obtain your fishing license!

For a day of golf, two golf courses (Boots Randolph and Arrowhead) are within approximately five miles of the cottage.

Bring your own boat and launch it at a nearby public boat ramp. You may also take advantage of boat rentals available at nearby Prizer Point Marina or Lake Barkley State Park. After a day on the lake, enjoy the outdoor fire pit as the sun sets. We provide wood, starter, and skewers. Just bring your marshmallows!

Our small town of Cadiz is known for many antique shops downtown, along with other essential stores such as grocery and pharmacies.

If you prefer to be indoors, enjoy the tranquility of a gas log fireplace in the great room or downstairs master suit.

The cottage has been newly decorated, along with new linens, towels, etc. Two bedrooms (king and queen) and full bath are located on the main level with a master suite/full bath (king) and bunk room with a double bed (no door, but private with a small opening to master) located on a lower level walk out basement, where you can access a covered porch complete with a porch swings overlooking the lake. Additionally, the couch pulls out into a queen size bed. Overall, the cottage can sleep up to ten.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the luxuries of home, along with a propane gas grill on the lower porch. If you don't feel like cooking, no problem! Check out the Prizer Point Marina/Restaurant which is just 2 miles from the house. Enjoy the open floor plan of the eat-in kitchen and great room. Cable is provided along with wifi.

With regards to the pandemic, deliberate cleaning practices are being implemented. Additionally, our cottage has been disinfected through a safe two-step electrostatic spraying system (alllen.LastGerm.com), which is registered by the EPA to kill the SARS-COV-2 (virus causing COVID-19) and a variety of other germs and viruses and mold and mildew, etc. The products are FDA and NSF approved to be nontoxic to humans and animals. You can be assured that sanitation is our top priority in order to keep our guests safe.

Great Girl Trip

We have stayed in this house before. It’s very comfortable. It is clean, has a great screened porch. A large dining table. We play cards most of time and table is perfect. Beds are comfy, Shower was good, air conditioning very good. Hosts are very responsive. We will likely return in the future.

Loved the Lake

This house is very clean and generally well equipped. The views are awesome and the deck was used often as my granddaughter's fishing spot. The host was very helpful when I had a question. The town of Cadiz is very small with no real attractions for children. I would have liked instructions on using the TV. Most of the pots and pans have a coating that was peeling off so I would suggest that those be replaced. Overall, a very good experience!

Awesome place to stay

We loved it here. Very nice house and neighborhood! I loved the screened in porch. We sat out there every morning and evening and looked at the lake. Loved the wildlife. Would definitely stay here again. Owner was also very nice and helpful with questions I asked before our trip.

Long Weekend Getaway

Went for 3 day weekend just to get away and chill and were able to do just that! House was great!! We’ll definitely be back in warmer weather when we can enjoy the outdoors and lake completely!!

AWESOME STAY!

We enjoyed our stay at Jeri's lake house! The house was clean, cozy and beautiful! We had 5 adults and 2 children and the set up worked perfect! Neighbors are close but friendly! Dock was great, just remember to bring extension cords if you need to plug up your boat! Amazing sunsets every evening.

Fun Weekend Getaway

This was a very nice clean house. We really enjoyed the screened porch that overlooked the lake. Plenty of towels and other household supplies. Our kids enjoyed the kayaks. Owner was very quick in getting back to us with any questions. Enjoyed.

Great house with kayaks ln the lake.

We had 2 couples and our kids stay at the house. Adults each had a bedroom upstairs and there was plenty of space for the kids downstairs. Having the 4 kayaks available with life jackets was great, so we could play around on the water in the nice cove that the home was on.

You'll Love This Place!

We wanted a little getaway for a relaxing NYE weekend and we definitely found it! This home exceeded its description. Roomy place to enjoy "chat time", board games and to just savor time together. We envisioned how we could enjoy this space even more in warm weather with access to a boat dock, kayaks, etc. In fact, already planning time for my husband and I to bring our family. We will most definitely be back!

Property was very nice, wonderful area. The listing showed one of the bedrooms had 2 beds which was not true. This was an issue. It would have been nice to have your cell number to contact you while we were there.

The extra mile

This house is located on beautiful Lake Barkley. The scenery is wonderful. The house is creatively decorated. We really enjoyed the fireplaces as a place to gather and talk. What was very unexpected was the birthday balloons and decorations. I had mentioned we were meeting for a birthday celebration. I think this shows the host is willing to go the extra mile to make the stay special.

Wry relaxing week!

The house was very nice and extremely clean! My friend and I especially loved the huge dining table. We took over half of it for our Christmas card and gift tag making! The covered patio/porch upstairs was amazing, although due to rain and cold temperatures, we didn’t get to enjoy it as much as we would have liked. We built a fire in the fire pit one night and that was fun. This was a super relaxing little vacation with our friends of almost 50 years! Also thanks for the great communication before we arrived. Our messages were responded to very quickly.

Yearly family reunion

The first thing you notice about this property is how clean it is. The furnishings and decor were classy and not over done. The only problem we had in the house was a can opener that was broken. The screened porch was awesome (a game table out there would be nice :) We spent every morning having our coffee outside enjoying the cool early breeze. The fire pit was a disappointment. It was in poor shape with the spark screen unusable. Overall it was a very comfortable house and we had a great stay.

Very nice place

We spent a family fishing get away here. It's halfway between those of us gathering, and it easily accommodated us. Sadly one member couldn't come last minute, but the weather cooperated all but one day. Fishing was good, and the family enjoyed. The only negative isn't due to the home but was due to timing. The neighbor home was renovating with a new garage, adding a sunroom, and re-roofing the entire house right next to us. We had to listen to pounding from sunup to dark daily. The neighbor on the other side was fantastic, super friendly, and even gave fishing tips.

Perfect Lake House for a Group

The house is delightful, clearly recently updated and decorated, and it has a great relaxing vibe. The boat dock was important to us and we were happy to find it in great condition as well. The kayaks were a nice extra, 2 people in our group got to try kayaking for the first time! The owner is extremely personable and responded quickly to texts. We had some serve storms during our stay and the own checked on us throughout. I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone who loves to boat or fish. The screened in porch was our favorite hangout spot at the end of the day. My only suggestion for the owner would be to have some soap and shampoo available in the bathrooms. Thanks Kim for being a great host!

Hidden Gem

What a wonderful stay. We all wish it could have been longer. Great fishing location on lake Barkley. Close to necessities. But poor service, (at least with Verizon) for me that’s a plus! The house is nice with plenty of sleeping options. I brought my boat and she had a perfect spot under the covered dock. Close to several launches. One great option even closer than what they recommend. Bring your food and grill tools (the only thing we found lacking during our stay were some tools for grilling. Also, I recommend you try to arrive during daylight hours to fully appreciate this property. We arrived at night and missed out on a lot that first evening due to lack of knowledge. The sunsets here are absolutely beautiful!!! If you’re looking for a well amended versatile location on Lake Barkley I recommend giving this place a try. Just not when I want to return :).
