"Great stay and great food. "

"Comfortable stay in a very good-sized room. We stayed in the Cockerel room (they are all individual and animal-themed), which also has a sofa bed and views out to the hills. Outside the rooms, there's an upstairs lounge and balcony, with books to peruse, in a nice touch. Very much enjoyed the plentiful breakfast, cooked to order with a wide variety of items from full fry-up to smoked salmon and kippers. Liked the beer range, which included Purple Moose. More books to borrow in the bar! Anyone looking for the pub needs to know it's a little out of Marton village and keep going past the national speed limit signs. One potential improvement could have been a shelf or unit for putting toiletries when using the bathroom sink. Otherwise v happy and top marks. It's in a great location for exploring Shropshire and the Welsh borders. "

"Wonderful hotel, room was clean, we had a room which was facing onto the Valley, was nice, Staff so friendly & helpful,. We had nice evening meal in restaurant, good value for money. Definitely recommend this hotel to stay or to pop by for a bite to eat or some refreshments. Close to Stram train & Devils Bridge. "

"Budget hotel and great value for money. Excellent breakfast, cleanliness great. Friendly staff. Room very small but bed comfortable, tv in room and very grateful for ensuite. Some road noise. Always found somewhere to park on the road when car park full. However, it is advertised as a budget hotel so no complaints at all. Stayed for 6 nights with 2 single rooms."

"A lovely place with an interesting history, super friendly welcome, lovely room and everything we needed. We dined there too and the food was spot on, really tasty, good portions and fairly priced. The only thing I would say is that the room was a little chilly and we couldn’t find controls to change that. However I assumed as it was summertime the heating was off, it just happened to be a rainy chilly May Day! I had a lovely deep bath in the freestanding tub and was soon back to being warm!"

"Stay was part of a multi stop trip visiting Wales. Really couldn't fault any part. Service was excellent - from check-in to dinner to breakfast. We had dinner at the hotel, which was homemade + tasty. A small bar area as well as a scenic dinning area overlooking the valley. Good WiFi and plenty of parking. Room clean and good condition. "

"Excellent attentive service by the hosts. We arrived late but the host still managed to accommodate evening dinner when the kitchen was closing. Just what we needed after a tiring day. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and full of character. Definitely will stay again if passing."
