"The house was in a lovely location but was very tired. Worn paint in the kitchen and a broken glass cook top. It is very small, no living area and only one air conditioning unit in the hallway to service the whole house. This means you have to sleep with all bedroom doors wide open in order to keep cool at night. We had a problem where the very bright outdoor lights were on an auto timer until at least 3am every night and without shutters or adequate curtains made it very difficult to sleep in brightly lit up bedrooms. I asked daily for this to be addressed and it sadly was not, despite being told every day it was.The biggest disappointment to me was arriving and having to make all of the beds up myself. We were left only sheets, no blankets and one pillow each. Having paid extra for the use of sheets and extra for cleaning I would have expected to at least have the beds made up on arrival.The outdoor area had not been cleaned and they don’t provide any cleaning supplies, even to clean the kitchen bench so I had to purchase cleaning supplies to clean myself.Overall the house, anmenities and complication of all the forms, extra charges (you pay extra for electricity too) were extremely disappointing. I’ve given it an ok rating because the location is very lovely and it was great being so close to the sea.It felt pretty unloved and not at all like the lovely styled images on the website"

"Lovely house in a really special area. Maria was a wonderful host who was always quick to help with any issues and give wonderful recommendations of places to visit and restaurants. Marina di Andrano is a lovely town with two excellent restaurants and the Malibu cafe at the end of the drive did excellent cappuccinos with a spectacular ocean view. "

"Bellissima settimana in Salento grazie alla casa "Stella Marina" che ha veramente tanti punti di forza: Ha una bellissima vista sul mareUn terrazzo vivibile e frescoLa casa all interno, pur essendo piccolina, è dotata di tutti i comfort.Maria ha un tocco molto personale relativo al design: tutto è curato meravigliosamente nei minimi dettagli. La posizione della casa è strategica: una manciata di gradini la separano da una delle calette più belle di castro: la cala dell'Argentiera. Ad un paio di km c' è anche cala acqua viva con acqua sorgiva. Castro ci è piaciuta molto: i luoghi, il mare, il sole, il vento, il cibo, la disponibilità e la gentilezza dei suoi abitanti....speriamo di tornare presto!Monica e Stefano"

"We and our elderly parents (6 total) had a fantastic stay at this clean, spacious, magazine photoshoot-ready, beautiful villa (with sea access during summer months) in Oct/Nov and enjoyed the use of the wonderful, newly heated pool right up to the last day! Loved the privacy we had during the off season. We were greeted with much appreciated, thoughtful, tasty local snacks, fruit and bottle of wine. Villa is a short 5 minute walk to Aquaviva. The views of the sea and Castro are just spectacular from ground level and the upper terraces. The outdoor space is lovely with grass and garden surrounding the villa. Pictures are very accurate. Every bedroom has a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. A/C and heat worked well. Newly remodeled kitchen is well stocked. Most importantly, Gaia was an excellent host and Felice and Lucia were wonderful property managers. They all were super kind, responsive and very accommodating to requests, which made our stay even more beautiful."

"Lovely hotel and good value off season as limited facilities available. It was great as it was nice and quiet. Beautiful sea views and location. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Just a couple of disappointments - the balcony had a very high front so when you sat down you couldn’t see the view! The sides were low so very open to neighbours and anyone smoking on their balcony. We had to keep the doors shut at times to keep smoke out of our room.( We were told we couldn’t swap rooms ) Also worth noting that all the balconies were in the shade in the afternoon when we visited in late September. "
