Just a few days after payment (and 2 weeks before we were due to travel) I received contact from the host to say that we were no longer able to stay (this property has a history of this, based on previous comments). We had to desperately search around for another property, now paying much higher last minute costs. After very little communication from the host, and after escalating to Vrbo, I eventually received...
