Close to good restaurants and in a safe area

This is my 3rd time staying at Don Jaime. I like it because of its location. It is very close to good restaurants, close to Chipichape shopping mall and close to various party places. Restaurants and party is within walking distance, Chipichape with a taxi less than 10 minutes away. This time I had issues with the internet, the wifi antenna was not able to reach my room properly. They installed a new wifi repeater the day after just outside my room. Really excellent service. Internet is great at this hotel, I measured it to 6MB/s close to the wifi antenna and about 2MB/s far inside the room. The rooms are sound proofed, but be advised that the salsa bar El Viejo Barril is open until 4am most days. If you love salsa you will not be bothered. If you sleep with ear plugs, which I always do, you will hear nothing from the outside partying. Cleaning service is very good, they come every day and really clean the place like a new guest was arriving. The breakfast is very basic unfortunately. A coffee, some pretty bad bread and scrambled eggs, which are just eggs mixed with nothing, so I wouldn't really call it scrambled eggs. Breakfast could easily be improved with a juice and fruits, shouldn't cost too much for the hotel to add that and it would improve the breakfast a lot. Also why not add some chives and cream, salt and pepper to the scrambled eggs? Would make it so much better! The beds are sufficient, I slept well. A/C is good.

Necesario una remodelación

Es un hotel legendario y de trayectori en Cali, demasiado antiguo y así lo dejaron, definitivamente deben remodelar y actualizarse. Desde los muebles, diseño, baño, armario, decoración, distribución..., todo se ha quedado detenido en el pasado . Debo rescatar la calidez y atención de sus empleados, SE ESMERAN, por hacerlo sentir a uno bien, ellos salvan la estadía.

Nice hotel in a good location

Stayed at this hotel in Cali and for the price it is quite good. Wifi was good, breakfast included was good and it is in a good and safe location. Several bars and clubs on the street below and some nice local food next door.

Great Value

The hotel is in a great cental location walking distance to bar and restraunts. There is a disco across the street that is loud on the weekends, but aside from that I enjoyed my stay. The staff is very kind and accomodating

Excelente atención. En particular Mónica y Jorge siempre se mostraron atentos y serviciales. La habitación super amplia y cómoda y la zona es cercana al centro y a lugares muy buenos para comer. La única observación que podemos hacer es la poca variedad en el servicio de desayuno sumado a que a veces sólo había pan para acompañar con queso y fiambre. Por lo demás fue todo excelente
