"Such a sweet small town and this rental is a great location because it’s just a few blocks from restaurants, the river, and the rail trail but far enough that there isn’t much traffic! The home is fully stocked with everything you need (they seriously thought of everything!) The host was super easy to chat with about local suggestions and questions about our planning before arriving! The house doesn’t have AC but fans are provided for each room which was helpful! We even brought a couple more which helped on the couple hotter days! The fully fenced in backyard was so nice for the kids! Excellent host and great property! Marlinton is a gem! "
"The visit was amazing. Oliver and Amelia welcomed us and helped us with our things as their lovely mom checked us in and showed us around. Owners are delightful, and we felt like we were with family right from check in. It is what a real lodge should be like, clean, cosey, rustic yet modern. We wish they were closer so we could go there often. The kitchen was clean, stocked with numerous food items for snacks and breakfast. All that one could want including watching deer from the porch swing, or sitting reading, play checkers or watch TV.. Local town is great too. It was a blessing to stay in Marlinton. Just be aware that the cell service is sporadic in the area and GPS can be a problem. If you have trouble with stairs ask for rm 1 as it is on the 1st floor. "
"The views from this place are amazing, even on rainy days. It gave are family the peace and tranquility that we were seeking and was a comfortable stay. We loved the seclusion of the lodge and the ability to see nature. "
"We had a lovely relaxing stay at the salt cave lodge. We came in the day before our booked spa treatment and stayed at the lodge. The accommodation was incredibly well thought out and provided a relaxing experience. ZEN!!! The bedrooms looked like rooms in a cave with curving walls, soft lighting, large salt lamps that glowed and even crystals embedded in the walls. The details – the wood tables, blankets, rugs, were impressive. The main room was a living room/dining room/kitchenette. They did have a large tv in the living room area and had wi-fi (relaxing without being disconnected). There were also salt lamps in all of the rooms so even watching tv gave off the salt cave vibe. Outside our rooms was a fire pit that could be used – but I would recommend bringing bug spray in the summer – just in case. Parking and the spa were right there and check-in very easy. Salt cave session was included so we booked that for the next day prior to our spa appointments. The spa location is outside White Sulfur Springs and at least 15 minutes away from Lewisburg. The onsite café opens at 10 or 11 so we ran over to Lewisburg for an earlier breakfast and had a later lunch at the onsite café. With the microwave and frig you can bring food in or drive to one of the nearby restaurants (check their schedules). If the lodge shows rooms available but the spa looks booked online call the spa to double check their availability. I would definitely repeat the entire experience! Amazing!"
Riverfront West Virginia Cabin w/ Screened-In Deck
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay in this West Virginia home on the Greenbrier River. The home was beautiful and well maintained and the location was perfect for our planned activities of kayaking, fishing, and relaxing. While on or near the property we saw deer, eagles and other wildlife and we were on the river every day.Sitting on the porch overlooking the river was fantastic, with chances for being both outside and on the screened in porch when it rained. The check in process was clear and easy. We would definitely love to stay in this home again."
Family Camp, Jackson River; Fly fishing, Rafting, Kayaking, Hiking, Biking<br>
10/10 Excellent
"We had an amazing time! We loved our stay at this he in Covington, Va.The home is right on the river. Access was easy. Super peaceful. While we had neighbors, it was very private and a very large and secluded large lot. The home was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed! We loved the location. We kayaked on the Jackson River and the James river. We fell in love with Lake MooMaw. The lake was simply stunning. Places to swim and hike. We regretted not kayaking there. We also went to the dam. The home was easy to get to Roanoke and Staunton. And other small towns. We loved the shopping and unique gifts and restaurants. We enjoyed Falling Springs Waterfall and the Humpback Covered Bridge where we had a picnic. We went to a charity event at the Rockbridge Vineyard and Brewery - and had an amazing time! Everywhere we went was very pet friendly! In the evening, we played games, relaxed in the screened in porch listening to the river, and watched movies. Our host was very attentive and could tell they cared about our stay.We definitely recommend this property!"
