The Norton House sits right on the Lake with a breathtaking view of the Big Niangua arm and features wood floors and a newly renovated kitchen with granite countertops, flat screen televisions and free wi-fi. There are 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths plus two additional queen roll-out sofas. All 3 bedrooms have queen beds.

Enjoy the lakeside picnic grounds and kayaking, relax on the patio and watch the boating activity, grill your supper or eat out, then let the sound of nature lull you to sleep at night.

The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, range, microwave, dishwasher and side bar for your favorite beverages. Enjoy dinners inside in the dining area or outside on the patio so you don't miss the beautiful weather and wildlife! Or, there are several restaurants nearby from casual to fine dining. There is also a big green egg and and offset smoker grill if you like to BBQ. There is a nice, private firepit just outside the front door for your enjoyment.

The Norton House is located west of Camdenton right where the Big Niangua tributary changes from a river to the Lake of the Ozarks. You'll be 'lured' to the Lake where the fishing is amazing for catfish, bass, crappie and walleye. Or play golf at either of two courses, Lake Valley Country club or Old Kinderhook (a Tom Weiskoph signature course).

One of the best features of this property and its sister rental, The Chardonel House, is the easy access to the Lake of the Ozarks. The lakeside picnic grounds is a short walk down the hill from the house or you can drive down the concrete driveway to the park.

About a hundred yards up the driveway from the house is an open-aired pavilion clubhouse with games to enjoy or just sit and take in the lake view.

You have free access to 4 kayaks, singles or doubles, for the length of your stay (a $100.00 value) and can pack a nice picnic lunch and your favorite beverages to enjoy while leisurely paddling the Niangua! Please note that in early spring the Lake water level is drawn down about 5 feet to make ready for the spring rains but you can still launch the kayaks from our dock in the shallower water.

No matter what your perception of a perfect vacation is, you won't be disappointed with the relaxation and serene feeling you will have when you leave this refreshing property!

It was very clean and had plenty room. They had kayaks, life jackets, paddles, and place for fishing. Clubhouse for games and it came in handy for rainy days. I would recommend it and stay again!

Guys weekend

The place was very good, lots of room and great location. 20 mins from everything and had a great time sitting by the fire pit and cook some steaks. Will recommend amd go back again..

Great property

Met up with our adult kids for the weekend at the Norton House. Perfect place for things to do inside or out--March in Missouri! We had the best time hiking and using the clubhouse. What a wonderful little place!

Awesome place

First glance you see a cute, well maintained cabin. It just gets better. Plenty of room, great views and comfortable beds. Fire pits, picnic tables canoes/kayaks available. The Norton House offers some seclusion as well . We loved it and plan to return.

We loved our stay in the Norton Cabin. It was clean; the beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything I needed. We plan to stay again!!!!

Norton house was a great place to stay. Very roomy, clean and cozy.

We enjoyed ping pong in the game room. We fished off the dock down the hill, and enjoyed kayaking. Very nice vacation.

Ideal Place for Our Family

What a wonderful place for our family of five – two kids (ages 10 and 12) and our 3-month-old puppy! The property was incredibly clean, comfortable, and had every amenity we could have possibly needed – and then some. We had a blast using the kayaks, paddle boat, and fishing off the dock. The rec room was a great option for a fun, rainy evening. Plus, we were super close to grocery stores, restaurants, and a park when we ventured out for some outdoor fun. Highly recommend this gem for a family getaway!

Spring Hunting Trip 2025

A couple of friends and I came down to do some turkey hunting in the area and decided to stay here. We were more than impressed at how beautiful the house was. Very spacious and well decorated. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and the kitchen and dining room were also immaculate. The view was incredible and all of the amenities were great. The owners were friendly, accommodating and very responsive with every question or update. I highly recommend this location!

WONDERFUL

Relaxing family vacay

This was our second family vacation at the lake house. Fantastic area of the lake. Quiet cove for swimming, great spot to explore the river area by paddle board. The clubhouse is perfect for the grandkids who have outgrown gathering in one living room area,

Very enjoyable stay

This was a fantastic place to stay. It is very relaxing with lots of space to spread out and enoy the water and kayaking and family. We had 3 couples and a child and we all had our own space and enough room to cook and eat together. We enjoyed the firepit and hiking the hills. We would definately stay here again. Beautiful place

The Norton House made a fantastic home base for our visit to the total solar eclipse in southeast Missouri. The house was extremely clean and comfortable, has everything you could need for a relaxing getaway. The lakeside area included in the property just cannot be beat. We had a wonderful time and cant wait to visit again!

Great House

This house was much better than stated in the VRBO website and pictures. The lake view from the deck is the greatest! The property furnishings inside and outside were very comfortable. The rocking chairs on the deck were great for comfort and enjoying the surroundings. Would definitely go back again and recommend it to friends. .

Family getaway

This property was perfect for our family - 6 adults and a baby. Lots of bathrooms and bedrooms - air conditioning worked great since we were there during some very hot days. Loved the access to canoe and kayaks. Access to boat dock for boat rental was so convenient too. Very quiet and so enjoyable.

Weekend get away

We celebrated my birthday on the lake Labor Dsy weekend. This is away from the hussle and bussle and is very peaceful even on a holiday weekend. The dock was great to float (water was shallow so a bit muddy). We floated on the raft, used the paddle boat, and kayaked to the cave. Perfect!!

Talk about a view !

The Norton House was such a joy. The view from the deck is amazing. If your desire for a getaway is a clean and very comfortable home with a view of the lake, you can't beat this place. We have stayed in Barb and Ward's rentals for the last 7-8 years and have never been disappointed. Everything you need to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Each bedroom had a bathroom connected. Nice quality outdoor furniture and grill, fire pit. TVs in all bedrooms. Great kitchen with all the necessities. Nice host quick to respond to questions or needs.

Perfect quiet secluded get away cabin

Great location, clean and well equipped also! Perfect for 3 retired guys on a golf trip to nearby golf courses. 3 bedrooms and each had their own bathroom. Didn’t cook or eat in the home but used the coffee maker. Great deck off the kitchen overlooking the lake - nice outdoor area with a fire pit, and grills - didn’t use them but maybe next time!
