"Jasper and Evelyn are wonderful hosts and have done an outstanding job of making their place very special - one you wish you had booked for more nights! Our room was perfect. The pool and the view from patio was spectacular. The food, for dinner (€) and breakfast, was all delicious. "A fabulously modern and beautiful hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed for two nights and even managed to squeeze in some round the pool time. Great pool by the way. A tip if you are arriving by train...there are two Antequera stations. Antequera AV which is the local station ( the walk to hotel is reasonably short but uphill (big hills) and brutal in 35 degrees heat. Would recommend getting a taxi. The other station is Antequera Santa Ana which is 17 KM away and you'll need a cab for sure. The walk to the town centre is about 10 mins once you've found the best route. Beautiful town too. Would definitely stay in this hotel again, in fact it's made us want to check out more Paradores across Spain."

"Beautiful hotel in relaxing gardens. Quiet and very Spanish. Bring Google Translate if you don’t speak the lingo. Even in high 30’s the pool is cold - but some people don’t mind that. Excellent restaurant with well above average food and wine. Walkable into town but most restaurants closes in the evening. I would definitely recommend."

"Advance communication from David about check-in and parking was first class. Spacious, spotless and modern apartment was fantastic. We didn’t use the available parking, we were fortunate enough to get a space at the church at the top of the hill. The town, bars, restaurants are only a 5 min walk away but the hill will be a challenge for some, so be aware."

"The rooms are basic but very reasonably priced and very clean, with aircon and storage for clothes, just what you need! Breakfast at 6euros/person was lovely and served to you in your room. We ate out on our room balcony with breathtaking panoramic views of the castle and surrounding mountains. Lots of hot water, clean fresh towels (daily if required) and shampoo supplied. TV in the room and a full size fridge so you can easily self-cater if you are travelling on a budget. Rooms are so reasonably priced! Our hosts could not do enough for us very helpful, knowledgeable and informative. Hostal Duran is right at the edge of the bustling village, filled with cafe's, bars restaurants (tapas was a favourite for us) and shops. There is also a very clean outdoor public swimming lane pool and a leisure pool, with the fabulous mountains for a back drop at 2euros/person(cash only for the pool). A couple of parks for younger kids, a winery for the adults, a selection of clothes and souvenir shops, a local pharmacy and a high street bank. Great air conditioned direct train link to Malaga Central and a regular local bus service (cash only for the bus). Local taxi drivers are a fountain of knowledge. Andalusia is the home of flamenco steeped in history with hidden gems such as Alora, a must see!"
