"VRBO owner Filomena Benevento's title should be the "ambassador" of historical city Tricarico! Filomena was gracious for having a late evening dinner with local goodies in the fridge due to our late arrival, to taking us on a tour of her city. Once she discovered we were wine producers from California on a research trip of Nebbiolo, Sangiovese and Aglianico in the Basilicata wine region, she arranged the meeting of local Cantina owners to view their vineyards and very historic cantinas. Grande Albergo Potenza

8/10 Good

"Good location, very clean, excellent breakfast & friendly staff"

La Primula

10/10 Excellent

"What a wonderful and unique experience. We are a family of 6 from NY, who struggle in Italian, but the staff here made it very easy to get squared away. The lady who must be the owner was very kind and so were the younger ladies. The rooms have more character than any hotel we’ve ever been to before. The pool is nice, all of the decor is perfect. The food in the restaurant was fantastic, the house red was equally great. The Chef comes by to talk to the guests. There were some other families with their children which we love to see. I cannot say enough about this hotel and its staff. You can tell the people here put a lot into decorating the hotel. Breakfast was great too, the senior gentleman was very kind there."

Masseria Straziuso - La Vaccariccia

10/10 Excellent

"We had an excellent stay here. The family (owners) are both warm and friendly, and the views are amazing. The room and bath are both spacious with a screened window for fresh air. Breakfast was typical Italian sweet breakfast, but they pivoted to accommodate my dairy allergy. Their on site restaurant is open for dinner on the weekends, and the food they served was delicious- my husband especially enjoyed the house made cheese and yogurt. If you like horses or just being out in the country, this is a great stop for you. Clean, family friendly. Highly recommended."
