They kindly upgraded us to a room with a balcony, which was fantastic! It was so lovely and luxurious and really made the stay perfect. Breakfast in Marie Brasserie was the highlight of my day - wonderful service overlooking the canal and an exceptional array of foods available at the buffet or for order. The hotel is small enough that the staff recognizes you and it really feels like a home away from home. Wonderful!! "

The location is definitely the highlight — tucked in a quiet street in the Jordaan area, it’s walking distance to shops, cafés, and the canal views we all love. It’s easy to get around and perfect for a solo traveler who likes to wander with no set itinerary. The room itself was simple, clean, and cozy, but definitely on the smaller side (typical for Amsterdam). If you’re looking for luxury, this isn’t it — but if you want somewhere safe, central, and convenient, it gets the job done. The staff was friendly and check-in was fast. A few things to know: the walls are a bit thin, so you may hear hallway noise. Also, the building is older, so expect Amsterdam charm, not modern upgrades. Overall, a solid budget-friendly stay in an excellent neighborhood. I’d stay again for the location alone. Great for solo travelers who want comfort, walkability, and a cozy home base between exploring. "
