Peaceful Bunkhouse cabin with mtn views near Arkansas River attractions & town
10/10 Excellent
"Awe . . . I love this place. It is so homey and the owners are great! "
Charming Creekside Cabin next to 4 Mile Creek with mountain views. Dog friendly!
10/10 Excellent
"Cabin has everything you need for a great stay. Mike and Shari live on property which makes it easy to get items resolved and secure local information, if you desire it. Shari makes a mean zucchini bread and Mike bravely removed a hornets nest off the deck. Stairs to the bedroom are very steep and folks with limited mobility should seek other accommodations. I recommend the following - Skyline Drive (3 mile drive on crest of mountain overlooking Cañon City; no guardrails), Old Tunnel Trail, Harding on Main, Pizza Madness and Fremont Provisions. I hope everybody enjoys their stay as much as we did."
"Older motel in Canon City that has been renovated. Great room, and pretty quiet even in our room that looked out on the highway. It's directly across the street from the Royal Gorge train station, so pretty convenient. I'd choose this if I come back to the area."
"Early check-in was appreciated due to an upset stomach…needed to lay down.
Nicely upgraded for an older property. Liked the back patio area and plenty of room to walk the dog beyond.

"I’d stay here again. The room was very clean, with modern amenities. We had wonderful views of the mountains. The continental breakfast provided a wide selection and service was the best I’ve ever experienced. The staff were great at recommended trails, interesting spots to visit, and restaurants to try."
"**5 Stars – A Wonderful Stay at Royal Gorge Retreat**We recently spent 3 nights at the Royal Gorge Retreat and had an absolutely wonderful time. Our hosts, Mikel and Veronica, were warm and welcoming, and made our stay especially enjoyable. The property itself is beautiful — the landscaping and outdoor spaces are thoughtfully maintained and perfect for relaxing. We especially loved enjoying our morning coffee on the deck, soaking in the peaceful surroundings.Inside, the home is just as lovely — if not even better. Every detail was clean, comfortable, and inviting, making it a great spot to unwind after exploring the area.We highly recommend this property to any small group visiting the region. If we’re ever back in the area, we’ll definitely be staying here again.Thank you, Veronica and Mikel, for a wonderful stay and sharing your property with us!"
"Nice place the shower door was jammed but cozy. This area doesn’t offer many nicer hotels so recommend here if you’re looking for something clean and reliable. "
