Quaint little place

This place was very easy to stay in. There is some use abuse but nothing that wpuld keep me away from renting again! We enjoyed a fire every night and the kids enjoyed the playground everyday

Close to Town

Older home, close to town and amenities. We had no problems with the house and communication with the owner was great, just be aware this is an older home and therefore has some quirks that come with older houses. Yard was great, however it was inconvenient to use as the neighbor dog would constantly bark at us if we were outside.

Property could use some TLC but was nice inside and the playground was big hit with the kids. Everything in the house was functional, the kitchen was outdated and the game room needs a lot of improvement. Very close to Royal Gorge railroad and park.

Another excellent golf trip to Canon City. Clean comfortable beds and plenty of fun activities to do on the properties. Location to tons of local highlights. Ramiro is extremely accommodating - thanks!

Rooms were clean. Grill was nice with big outdoor table for dining. Centennial park nearby was fun! Volleyball net was a bonus for my teens! Game room pool table has seen better days and quite a few sticks were broken, the batteries and electronics of other games didn’t work.

The size of the house was great. Pet-friendly was accommodating. Area felt unsafe, yard was large and not well-kept, it was backing right into other neighbor’s gates, which felt insecure. Inside the home, plenty of space, very few traditional amenities. Lack of basic kitchen items (salt, pepper, oil, coffee). House was outdated, and felt dirty. Walls/doors had visible dirts marks on them, fridge was broken and dirty. Overall 2/5.

Thanksgiving

My family and I went for Thanksgiving. The house was amazing, comfortable and cozy made it feel like a family home. The kids loved all the games, playground and outdoor space, the teens loved to get away in the basement to be loud and the adults appreciated it too. The neighborhood is peaceful and so quiet at night, we all slept like babies, the beds were so comfortable. We had everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving diner. We went on the Santa Train and we will never forget it. I highly recommend the train ride, the scenery is amazing. Thank you so much Ray, wonderful memories were made.

Good: Location was great! Convenient to everything Canon City. Good restaurants nearby. Good communication from owner Not so good: no heat in the master bedroom, he asked me to light the pilot, my husband and I both tried but it wouldn’t work. He said maintenance would be that the next day, but never showed. Owner told me to get another heater from one of the other bedrooms. We stayed comfortable with both heaters. Lights in the master bathroom did not work. He told me to take a lightbulb from a lamp, I couldn’t get the globe off due to rusted screws. He told me to take the lamp from another room to plug in there, I did. Ugh!! Cute furniture and accessories, but the home could use some maintenance.

Celebrating our 44th Wedding Anniversary

We was not expecting to arrive and smell a strong odor of a substance like Febreze sprayed all over everything like it was covering up some type of odor. I have asthma, which caused me to cough all night. So we left the next day and did not stay the two days that we paid for. Also, there was some type of a bug that had wings like an ant or something that was crawling on the walls when we got there in the bedroom. We tried to let the owner know. He said he was going to take care of it, but we have not heard back from him since. The place needs a lot of work done on it as well carpet needs to definitely be removed. We were very unhappy. Great home and worked perfectly for what we needed. The location was the best since it’s right in town. That was very convenient. The backyard is awesome and we had a blast with the volleyball net, swing set, pool table and outdoor dining room table. It’s was great.

We were on vacation to visit family and go to a wedding. Was traveling with a 15 y/o and a 7y/o. The house is old but very well decorated with a southwest theme. Was enough stuff for the kids to do so you didn’t have to hear them say they were bored. The contact person was easy to reach and very nice. Would stay there again if we go back to Canon City

wonderful home away from home

This was the first time that either of my partners in crime ever stayed at a VRBO so they were so excited and loved the place and the privacy. Funniest was we traveled to Canyon City to help their Aunt celebrate her 100th bday, and her house was only two blocks from this house we rented. Would 100% stay again, maybe for the 101st bday :)

A great weekend getaway!

Great place to stay with kids, Nice big yard play area for kids. Our grandkids are 4, 5, and 8 years old they had a great time. The house was very comfortable and a good layout for Grandparents with their kids and grandkids.

Great location for food and activities

This property has some great space, indoor and out. The layout is a little quirky and the a/c is by window unit (we just so happened to pick the one week temps were over 100 degrees for our visit). There were five of us and two dogs and we were able to spread out when we wanted. A little short on dining space (two seperate spaces inside added up to 6 seats, plus 6 outside if the weather permis) vs the number of beds (room for 13). The back yard was perfect to enjoy S'mores over the fire pit, a good game of family volleyball and letting the pups run around.

We had a great time!

First of all, we had a great time! The house was in a great location, it was nicely decorated and clean and just about anything we needed was there. We loved that our pups could join us, and they loved playing in the huge backyard. We would most likely stay there again. Having said that we did run into a few things that could be easily improved: 1. The air freshener plugins were super strong and unpleasant. I had to unplug them while we were there and open windows.. but... 2. Most of the windows and the front "screen door" do not have screens. There were only a couple we could open. 3. The backyard had a lot of things that were a bit dangerous for the dogs. We watched them closely, but there were bottle caps, cigarette butts, a huge bone of some sort, a corn cob, pistachio shells, etc. Also, though we picked up after our dogs (and some others) there was a lot of waste in the backyard from previous doggie occupants. 4. The garage game room smelled so strongly of mold/mildew we couldn't stand to be in there. It was dirty and cluttered, and I don't think I would advertise it as an asset to the rental. Again, we really enjoyed ourselves and would love to return to the area. But we wanted to offer some honest thoughts to hopefully make it a really good place to stay. Thank you!

Needed repairs

Rear heater (wall unit ) needs repaired so thermostat can turn heat on and off and rear shower needs valve adjusted so hot water will come out off shower. Home was nice other wise
