Lovely hotel with fabulous artwork everywhere. Personalized service 24/7. The staff was friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to add special touches. Turndown service was especially impressive. Good location: ubers from Derwent to most attractions were under $6 per trip. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were phenomenal! I did not feel safe walking around the area, but we used UBER and had no issues. I would stay again. They allowed us to stay in our room until we left for the airport in the late afternoon. That was a real perk!

From the moment you enter the beautifully decorated lounge area, you know this is your home away from home. The room isnt large, but well appointed. Staff is superb. Great restaurants nearby and we also we walked the 30 min. downtown( we are 72) took Uber everywhere else. Breakfast is fabulous and the little touches of having cake or cookies around in the afternoon was an added bonus. There are steps to all the rooms that I could see so if this is a problem, check. Otherwise, this is the place to stay.

Absolutely fabulous hotel - incredible service, superb room, great indoor & outdoor spaces and amazing breakfast. Complimentary tea, coffee and cake in the afternoon as well as well stocked honesty bar. I am struggling to think of a better place that we have stayed at around the world - it is the staff in particular that go the extra mile with everything that really differentiates this hotel from others. The perfect Boutique hotel. It is in a great location, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the decor is perfect for Africa. The rooms are very clean and the included breakfast was perfect. The experience could not have been better. We will return when we next visit Cape Town.

The service and staff at Derwent House are exceptional, nothing is too much and the thought that has been taken to make our stay enjoyable is gruels astounding. Everything you need is provided and some of the very thoughtful touches both in your room and in the dining area are so well done. the staff at Derwent house are exceptional, if your going to Cape Town stay here it’s amazing.

Home from home! It was everything you’d wish for and more. The team couldn’t do more for us and made us feel like part of the family. Location at the bottom of table mountain about 15 minute walk from the centre. The staff are the number one selling point and will help with whatever you need. The communal area is beautiful with a warm fire and comfy sofas. Breakfast was delicious. Room was a bit small but that was the only complaint.

Good guesthouse and value for money, but a few things that could easily be improved. Locks to rooms didn’t work properly, service was sweet but a bit overwhelming and breakfast was a little average. Luca the manager however was absolutely fantastic and super helpful, would recommend.

The Derwent House was excellent on all accounts with the exception it is on a hill and my husband isn't the best at parking however the manager came and parked the car for us and we didn't need to use it again until we left. The guest house is convenient for Table Mountain and walking Lions Head it is a small oassis to come back to at the end of the day. Delicious afternoon teas and quiet at night. Easy access to the Waterfront and good restaurants within walking distance

This is a beautiful boutique hotel, in a neighborhood full of restaurants, nightlife and shopping. Most outstanding was the friendly and helpful service, which competes with concierges in the larger hotels, from restaurant recommendations and reservations, to car-hires and other basics. The only minor downside was the lack of a generator to compensate for South Africa's rolling power blackouts, so the air conditioning goes out for a couple hours each night, but it was a minor inconvenience. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Extremely nice staff that went way above and beyond. Included breakfast was excellent and better than what you could find in any restaurant if you went and sat down and ordered avocado toast in my case with salmon. They have lots of staff to make sure the place is secure and everything is taken care of in a timely manner. As for the frequent power outages there were no inconveniences since they have batteries that filled in the outages like they didn’t happen. Very good stay, would choose over a chain since it’s much more personalized and friendly.

Beautiful Boutique Hotel in a great area of Cape Town- Our correspondence prior to coming helped to make everything smooth and comfortable ( eg. pick ups/drop off from the Guest home, the area , things to do - restaurants to visit etc . ) Breakfast was amazing with fantastic coffee to start , juice choices, cereals, cheeses , breads and jams etc....followed by a hot plated excellent classic bacon and eggs cooked to taste breakfast ...yum yum... served in a vibrant dining area...
