"Great spot 15 min away from Porto Cervo, Baja Sardinia and Palau, so very central to everything you’d need in the north east part of the island. Very clean, serene, quiet with great service including turn down service. Room service fee was expensive (12 euro) and we only ordered water but oh well. The breakfast is excellent"

"Just spent a very nice week at La Funtana hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable, clean room. Lovely powerful shower. Loved the pool. Breakfast buffet was fantastic. Location is a little out of town which means it is quiet but still easy walking distance to the beach, bars and restaurants of Santa Teresa di Gallura and also to the port where you can take boat tours. Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay. "

"The air conditioning system is older and the thermostat in the room does nothing. We were there during a hot night and had to request a fan. The restaurant is not good at all. They run out of food several times during breakfast and getting a coffee is a chore. You can read other reviews about the dinner service being rude. Definitely not 5 star, OK, but they should adjust their prices."

"Has the potential to be a really great hotel. In desperate need of a refurb especially the pool area. Breakfast is so busy and staff were quite stressed. We skipped breakfast most days because it was so disappointing. Room furniture needs updating. Cleaning was to a good standard."

Hotel has own beds on the beach but you have to pay €30 per day and the hotel pool is for show, you can’t get in it. Would be great if the rooms had a kettle/tea and coffee facilities and an iron. "

"Travelled in April so reasonably quiet. Liked the area but nicer to have a car at least for a couple of days to explore. "This is a lovely hotel, stunning scenery of turquoise sea so try to get a sea view room if you can. It’s a 5 star hotel for sure. Beautifully planted gardens with herbs and flowers to take a walk through, we played tennis in the courts on the grounds and joined the free evening yoga class under a clear blue sky. The Spa delivered a wonderful massage. Everywhere you go, there is attention to detail with the free welcome drinks, clean, well-equipped rooms, marble bathroom, bathrobes and slippers, kettle and coffee making facilities, books, and we had a lovely balcony with lots of room and privacy. The staff are so helpful. Guest Relations took genuine interest in trying to find another room for me so I could be closer to my family. The sea really is crystal clear. And the pool is lovely. Really, I loved everything about it but please take note that you really do need a car if you stay here. You can easily spend the price of your flight on taxi fares to see anywhere else. There is a free shuttle to Porto Rotondo very close by, which we took. The driver offered to pick us up after dinner which we were very glad of but what he didn’t say is that as it was after the free window of time (last shuttle is 6:30pm), it would cost us €58 for that pick up and I only saw this at check out when I went to pay the bill. A trip to Porto Cervo was quoted at Euro130 one way. So we didn’t leave the hotel after that. Nevertheless if you want to just chill in amazing surroundings, this is a winner"
