"This villa is in a beautiful rural location a short walk outside the village of Castel-Nuovo. It looks over the quite populated valley below that leads to La Spezia. We had a hard time finding the villa because the Internet went down soon after leaving the La Spezia-PIsa highway so we couldn't use Google-Maps, but providing the internet is working it's easy to find. The pool is small but warm (in early June) and in a pleasant private location. One of the two bed-rooms is up a steep winding metal...

"Cool comfortable house high in the hills. Lovely setting a mix of gardens, olive and cherry orchards and woodland. We breakfasted to the song of blackcaps with bee eaters, hoopoes and buzzards glimpsed in flight. We felt very close to wildlife. The best pool we have ever swumIn. Clear mountain air. Delightful Barga and other villages nearby. Good places to eat within 10 minites drive. Lovely hosts, nearby if we had a problem but discrete. Arrived with delicious homegrown cherries and courgettes....

"We went as a group of 12 and had a wonderful holiday. We had enough space inside and outside the house, the rooms were very clean and with a beautiful view of the tuscan mountains. The Kitchens were well equipped and catered to all our needs, the Pool is big and perfect for a refreshment in between. Thank you for a lovely time!"

"Pure tranquility with the constant burble of the trout stream. The house is quite someway up a mountain, down a dirt track and in a valley - not for the faint hearted. Pool relies on sun to heat and the temperature was still quite fresh in June. Great location for access to Florence, Pisa, Chianti wine region, and host of beautiful hilltop towns and villages. Only complaint is that the towels are not adult body sized for drying off after the shower so advise you to take own bath towels. Ideal...

"We had a fantastic holiday here. The views are absolutely stunning and we spent a lot of time enjoying them by the pool. Any direction you drive, there are gorgeous little hillside villages and the owners recommendations for restaurants are brilliant - do not miss the multi course set Sunday lunch at Hotel Panoramica! Swimming at the waterfall and cooking in the wood fired pizza oven were also highlights. We are missing waking up to those views!"
