Best Island Getaway

We had a very big group for a week and this home was perfect. Location couldn’t have been any better and everyone was extremely helpful. Not only was the house/owner great everyone on the island were great too. It was windy while we stayed so we spent a lot of time at the pool. The pool area was just as beautiful. We loved it so much and hope to go back.

Best location on the island.

Perfect beachfront spot, twenty-five feet from the water. We saw dolphins and tarpon right in front of the house. Each night we watched the most beautiful sunsets and fell asleep to the waves. Absolutely incredible.

Great week at Big!

A true beach house… Nothing fancy but all the essentials and then some. A great 6 bdr layout for large families. Best location on the island! The only downside is their 8 AM check out, but we requested a later time and they happily accommodated us. Fantastic week!

Big on the Beach = Big Family Fun

Our family of 16 had fun from sunrise to sunset. From playing in the ocean to fun in the pool to hiking and collecting seashells to seeing manatees and watching the dolphins swim by. It was everything we hoped for and more . A little bit of paradise!

Literally on the beach

Great family vacation suitable for all ages. The house is a few steps to the beach which is very convenient to comeback whenever you need it (with kids and babies that’s a big plus). It is big enough with many rooms and bathrooms that people can do different activities without bothering each other ( work, play , breastfeeding, etc.) and also have communal areas on the top floor to share time cooking or eating all together. Great family vacation!

Calm and Peaceful Stay

The location is best on island from what I could tell. You can see gulf and bayside. Sunsets are amazing. Wildlife and seashells abound. The beaches are secluded for the most part with an occasion couple or family but night and day when compared to some of the more “touristy” places we have stayed along 30A. We will most certainly return. The owner and caretakers went out of their way to ensure our stay was amazing. Stephanie, Wendy and Bob were excellent communicators!

The views!!!

I have never seen views that are so gorgeous from every angle of the home. Multiple decks that give you privacy, perfect sunset views and beach views. Everyone on the island was incredibly helpful and friendly! We fell in love with North Captiva and Big on the Beach is the perfect location. We will be back!

Amazing Location!

We had an amazing week at Big on the Beach! The location is spectacular with panoramic ocean views. The sunsets were incredible. The house was very clean, and the caretakers were incredibly helpful leading up to our arrival. We were a group of 13, with adults and seven children under10. We all fit comfortably in the house. We would definitely stay at Big on the Beach again!

Perfect for a family reunion

We enjoyed a nice long weekend at Big on the Beach! Our family had plenty of space to spread out and my daughter (7 months) was able to sleep downstairs while the adults hung out upstairs. We had a wonderful time spending some much needed time as a family. We took advantage of the location and views to update family photos while there as well! Bob and Wendy were absolutely wonderful; so warm and welcoming as well as super helpful. It was our first time on the island but it won’t be our last! See you soon North Captiva!!

Island paradise

The Island makes you relax and take life down a notch plenty to enjoy while you’re there. Kayaking saw dolphins within 20 feet playing and jumping out of the water. sightseeing for wildlife was a pleasure. You have access to two different pools and one hot tub. Mangos bar and grill had great cocktails and food wonderful people. The host Stephanie was Awesome as well as Bob and Wendy Lee the caretakers they wanted to make your stay is a special one for sure and we’re easy to get in touch with if you had any questions. Can’t say enough such a pleasure.

What a beautiful blessing!

It really is hard to put this experience in just a few words. It was a perfect fit for the 12 of us! Beautiful and comfortable! Stephanie was so kind and helpful. Bob and Wendy, the amazing hosts, were so informative, kind and easy to reach. This beach house is truly paradise! Tropical Oasis with a view like no other

The location of this property is amazing with it being directly on the beach! We woke every morning to watching the diverse wildlife in the water and along the beach from our balconies, and the most amazing sunsets every evening! We went around the whole island and I’m not sure there is another house with this unique vantage point on the beach. We had our whole family, siblings, nieces and nephews, and parents, and all slept comfortably. We also do a lot of cooking and their kitchen was well stocked with quality kitchen items and a nice newer grill! The property owner and care takers were wonderful and very responsive, even helped us arrange transportation when we had a medical emergency.

Best Birthday Ever!

My friend and I both turn 50 within days of each other. We wanted a spectacular celebration with all of our friends. Big on the Beach did not disappoint. There’s something for everyone in our very large group. Guys loved to fish and ride golf carts to explore. The girls shopped, beached, and went to the pool. Great family fun

We took a large family group of 14 and had an amazing week on north captiva. The new water pump is amazing and makes the water very drinkable. Plenty of storage between the 2.5 fridges. The only complaint i would have is about the poor internet speed (.5mb download, i haven't had speeds that low since 1999). Past that you cannot find a better location on the island. Simpky walk outside to paradise! Also, make sure to take a fishing trip with house manager Captain Kolani. We hope to return someday!

FABULOUS HOUSE, BEAUTIFUL BEACH!!!

Quite the excellent location on this lovely island. We found the Big on the Beach House PERFECT for our extended family! Everyone loved this house and loved our vacation! This house was well equipped and was closer to the beach than most of the other homes. How about the kids screaming "dolphins!" while we were having dinner. We saw manatees, dolphins and jumping tarpons splash into the water from the house several times during our stay. The Boat house and Over the Waterfront were our favorite restaurants on the island. The owners were great, everything went smoothly, highly recommend the Big on the Beach House!

Very beautiful location. Watch sunsets from our location on the beach.

Location right on the beach is perfect. So nice to walk the beach and enjoy the ocean 24/7. Loved the ocean sounds even while you sleep. Saw dolphins swimming by daily. The house meet all of our needs. Bob and Wendy the host couple were awesome and willing to help with anything you needed. Stephanie and Curt the Property owners were always willing to take questions and interested in any of your concerns or needs while staying on their property. Both host couple and owners were very easy to get ahold of and communicate with that you never felt unattended. The island itself is still recovering from hurricane Ian but with time it will get better. I would recommend staying at this location if you are looking for the full ocean experience and a quiet relaxing vacation.

Beach vacation

The house had an amazing location literally right on the beach. Being able to hear the waves from inside the house and on the porch was really neat. Also, being able to just walk outside and onto the beach was perfect! I will say that the house is definitely in need of some updates. Some windows leaked quite a bit during the storm and the bathrooms were small and needed updated faucets. While the house is on the beach and sand was expected, the floors definitely could have been swept better before we arrived. There were numerous collections of dust and dirt in bedrooms and living rooms and the rugs looked very dirty. Despite some of those upgrades and cleanliness issues, the location was fantastic and we had a great trip!
