Red Door Hideout | D/T Carbondale, A/C, Lush Yard

Just off Carbondale’s vibrant Main Street, this lovingly restored 1888 cabin offers a rare blend of historic charm and modern comfort. Originally part of the Seeburg Ranch, now Aspen Glen, it has been thoughtfully relocated and reimagined as a serene, self-contained retreat. With a queen bedroom, lush private yard, and cozy amenities, it’s the perfect hideout for couples or friends seeking character, calm, and a walkable downtown experience.

Tucked behind a quiet home just steps from downtown Carbondale, The Red Door Hideout offers a unique stay steeped in Roaring Fork Valley history. Built in 1888 and originally part of the Seeburg Ranch (now Aspen Glen), this log cabin has been carefully preserved and relocated—bringing its storied past into the present with quiet elegance and modern ease.

Warm wood-paneled walls and antique accents offer a timeless welcome, while fresh renovations and cozy comforts make it feel effortlessly livable. The open-concept living space features a smart TV, plush seating, and a dining nook framed by antique captain’s chairs. This home now features A/C in the living room, keeping you cool in the peak summer months. A well-equipped kitchenette includes a 2-burner stovetop, microwave, toaster, mini fridge, and sink—ideal for light meals and morning coffee before heading out to explore.

In the back of the cabin, a cozy queen bedroom and bathroom deliver a peaceful, plush retreat. The bedroom’s crisp linens and calm palette invite restful nights, while the bathroom ensures every detail is cared for.

Outside, a private yard and patio create your own pocket of serenity. Sunbathe on the lounge chairs, enjoy a glass of wine in the lush summertime garden, or unwind after dinner at one of Carbondale’s beloved eateries, just a block away. Despite its central location, the space feels quiet and tucked away, offering the best of both worlds.

Whether you're sipping coffee under the morning sun or curling up for a movie after a mountain adventure, this hidden gem invites you to slow down and settle in.

This is a great place to enjoy everything the area has to offer. It’s super clean and close to downtown. Just the right size for 2 people. The hosts were great and helped us get fans to cool it down in an extra warm day.

The place was clean and quaint, our stay here was comfortable and communication with the management was good. The alley access was a little unexpected, I may have missed it in the description but we managed and still enjoyed our stay. We stayed in September and glad there were fans which kept it comfortable for us could be a concern in the hotter months. Overall was a good experience and if we come back to Carbondale would consider this cute cabin again!

I stayed at the Red Door for week (play & work). The location is great but as other reviewers mentioned you will experience alley noise. The internet was a little slow (consistently 3ish down and 6ish up) make work video calls a challenge at times. I would definitely recommend this place give the location but proceed with caution if you are a light sleeper and/or plan to work remotely.
