"The first room we had the bathroom had not been cleaned was dirty with hair in the tub and on the vanity counter I could tell this hotel was no longer owned by a local couple since my last stay It was a Holiday Inn Suites and Conference center now just a Holiday Inn Express I was also given wrong quote originally on their military, senior and bereavement rate when I initially inquired. The breakfast buffet was decent and most of the staff seemed cordial May or may not stay there again when in Southern Illinois "

"The place looks run down and a little grimy. The room lacked a functioning remote so tv was useless. Hair dryer didn’t work. Room was bare. You could see where art used to hang and the tv bracket was still on the wall. Breakfast was mediocre "

"If you're looking for a five star all inclusive resort, this is not the place for you. It's a charmingly rustic cabin tucked back in the woods. I've seen the negative reviews complaining about the random vehicles parked about or sheds sitting here and there and to be honest it made me want to book it even more. The cabin was PERFECT. The host, Tom, was so welcoming. You feel like you're in the backwoods somewhere but you're only a minute from town. We throughly enjoyed our stay and our only complaint was that it wasn't long enough. If you're looking for something different I highly recommend this lovely little place! "
