The Dunes is a cosy and comfortable space, perfect for couples to enjoy a relaxing retreat. Set over two floors the accommodation has been thoughtfully laid out and finished to a high standard throughout. The ground floor is an open plan layout with a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area and a cosy living area centred around the lovely wood burner. The first floor bedroom has a kingsize bed, en-suite shower room, and even a sea view across Kenfig Pool and the sand dunes!
Located just a short walk from Kenfig National Nature Reserve and local beaches, this is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Welsh coastline and to enjoy nature. After a day of exploring, relax and refuel - the village has two traditional pubs serving food and real ales or just a ten-minute drive will get you to the popular seaside town of Porthcawl for some fish and chips!
If you’re heading out for the day, then Cardiff or Swansea are vibrant cities with plenty to see and do. Visit the castles & museums and indulge in history, or treat yourself to some retail therapy, see a show and enjoy some of the bars and restaurants on offer. Cowbridge is also a popular spot for boutique shopping, with a range of independent shops and restaurants lining the pretty market town. For a more sporting day out, South Wales has some popular country parks and coastal paths - great for mountain biking, hiking and walking. There are also a few golf courses nearby, including The Royal Porthcawl Golf Course - recognised as the number one golf course in Wales. Beach 30-minute walk.

We received a very warm welcome from Lee who had provided tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and some lovely welsh cakes. The cottage is very well maintained, warm and comfortable. It is also spotlessly clean. The location is very quiet and peaceful with views across Kenfig Pond and out into the Bristol Channel. Food at the local pub was amazing. There are many walks around the area and interesting places to visit a little further afield. This is the best place at which we have holidayed.
