DISCLAIMER ON PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Wells and Bennett Realtors (Property Manager) requires $500 of your reservation total due upon booking (this is separate from the VRBO Service Fee that is also charged immediately) and the remainder is due sixty days prior to check-in. We also require Vacation Rental Accidental Damage Insurance for your reservation. There are two options to satisfy this requirement. You can purchase a policy through us and it costs an additional $55 total. The alternative option is that you can opt in for a refundable security deposit of $3,000. If you opt in for the security deposit, we will hold that on your card on file two weeks prior to check-in and then will return it as quickly as we can. Thank you for understanding.
The Carnelian Bay Basecamp is perfect for families and groups who are looking for a spacious, functional home in a perfect location. The 3-story, 2,400 square-foot home was remodeled in 2023 and is tastefully decorated with custom-built wood tables and newly updated furniture. It includes the special features to enhance your Lake Tahoe vacation including a hot tub, two separate living rooms, sunny rear deck with BBQ, modern electronics including flatscreen TVs with Roku streaming services, a pool table and wet bar, a home office setup for those needing to do some Zoom calls and get some work done and off-street parking for 4 cars.
The location is ideal. The home is on a quiet, sunny, relatively flat street with little thru traffic providing easy access in winter. Just two blocks from the home is a trailhead to Tahoe National Forest / Tahoe Conservancy land offering access to miles of mountain biking and hiking trails including the Tahoe Rim Trail with breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe. The lakeshore is a short half-mile walk offering locals' favorite restaurants, the famous Garwoods restaurant and bar and two public beaches. The central location offers quick access to all the best ski resorts in the area, including a short 15-minute drive to Northstar or 20 minutes to Alpine Meadows and Palisades.
Upon entry to the main floor you are presented with a sunny and bright seating area with vaulted ceilings, TV, stone fireplace, and large south facing windows to allow for natural light. The beautiful hardwood floors extend into the kitchen which was completely remodeled in 2023 with a high end Chef's gas range, ample counter space, and a large dining table. The south facing deck and barbeque can be accessed off of the living room and is the perfect spot to soak in the sunshine. This floor includes 2 queen bedrooms and 1 full bathroom.
Upstairs is a spacious loft area that overlooks the living room and south facing windows. The loft includes a sitting area and home office desk for those needing to get some work done while on vacation. This floor includes a large bedroom with 2 full beds and 1 twin bed and a full bathroom. The loft also includes a futon for groups wanting an extra bed.
Downstairs is a second living room with a TV, full-size pool table, kitchenette/wet bar and access to the hot tub. This is a great space to unwind and play games with friends and family. Or, you can choose to relax in your own private hot tub and enjoy ultimate comfort after a day of adventure. The two living rooms provide plenty of options for your group or family to split up and enjoy their favorite activity. This floor includes a full bathroom. Lastly this floor includes a separate entrance via a mud/laundry room with hooks and hangers to store all of your adventure equipment including skis, boards, poles, jackets, boots etc.
This home is pet friendly to dogs only! There will be a $100 pet fee plus tax. Maximum one dog.
PLEASE NOTE: Decks and BBQ grills may NOT be available during winter months, exterior areas may be icy. This home is not equipped with AC. Per Placer County Short Term Rental regulations, quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am, and no street parking is permitted at any time, including boats and trailers.
Cancellation Policy / Cancellation fee: If cancellation is made more than 60 days of arrival, a cancellation fee of $100 plus the 4% booking fee will be applied. If the cancellation is made within 60 (or less) days of arrival, the entire rent will be retained unless Wells and Bennett Realtors is able to re-rent the specified property. If the property is re-rented, a cancellation fee of $100 plus the 4% booking fee will still apply, but the remainder of rent will be refunded after the replacement guests have checked out. We recommend purchasing 3rd party trip insurance if you have concerns about canceling your reservation.

One of the most well equipped kitchens we’ve stayed at in a long time! Separate game room with pool table was perfect for lounging and hanging out. Every board game you could think of. Pet friendly home also had rags that we appreciated having when needed. Would definitely stay again!

The house is beautiful, well kept, & has several amenities--full kitchen ware, hot tub, and pool table which my 18 & 20 year old loved! It's close to wherever you want to visit. We will definitely stay here again. The host made everything very convenient and streamlined. No hiccups.
Took the whole family to Lake Tahoe for White Christmas. This accommodation has everything our family of 9 ( 6 adults, 3 children) needed. We were able to enjoy a wonderful Christmas dinner. It was a perfect getaway for us.
Property was very much as advertised. We had 4 adult couples and there was plenty of room for all of us. The property was well maintained and we lacked nothing. Beautiful setting, too.
We had a great stay. The location is perfect for easy access to beaches. The layout of the house was ideal for our family group with plenty of space and separate areas. The kitchen is very well equipped and we appreciated the generous supplies of all types (including extra towels). Also appreciated having minimal checkout tasks!
This is one of the best "ski lodge" condos that I have ever stayed at. The kitchen was well stocked. The hot tub was clean and it worked great. The rec room was good, the living room was super nice, the beds were comfy and clean, etc. A minor concern is that when the neighbors are burning wood fireplaces, the smoke did get into the our rental (especially on the bottom floor). Regardless, this place is a gem and I would rent it again if I could.
