What to visit in Carrara
A center of great historical and artistic interest is Carrara, known internationally as the "city of marble", surrounded by the white bastion of the Apuan Alps, where the extraction of the stone takes place. In addition to valuable monuments that include the Duomo and its Romanesque-Gothic façade, the 16th-century Cybo Malaspina residence, and the majestic Palazzo delle Logge, Carrara also offers educational excursions regarding local marble at the Museo Civico del Marble and sculptors and artists workshops present nearby.
aware of the depopulation of this precious species for the entire ecosystem".
The composition of the sound artist Alessio Mosti makes Impollinèmesi the first multimedia eco-mural in Italy.
By approaching the work and framing the Qr codes, the visitor can listen to a particular "soundtrack", that of the bees: a completely new composition based on a soundscape resulting from samples collected directly in the apiary - with the collaboration of the beekeeper Martina Bigi – collected with experimental field-recording techniques.

“Through the aid of modular synthesizers and machines dedicated to the production of electronic music” – explains Alessio Mosti – “i reworked the sound material to the point of introducing properly harmonic and rhythmic parts. The result was a composition, Resisto, in three movements: a first that tells the story of the function of the bee as a vehicle of pollination, of love; in the second movement the balance of the swarm is upset by an element alien to the ecosystem, the velvet wasp. The conclusion in this case sees the victory of the colony over external threats, reflecting globally on how the bee is a necessary element even for our very existence on this planet".
