"The property was beautiful and the hosts were very helpful! It was the perfect spot for a getaway with friends! The location was perfect as it was a short drive from town and right on a gorgeous lake, where we had access to canoes and kayaks. We went on a few gorgeous hikes around the area (Whiteside Mountain, High Falls, and Rainbow Fallls at Gorges National Park). I highly recommend staying here, and I can’t wait to book my next trip!"

Highlander Mountain House

10/10 Excellent

"My friend and I had separate rooms with balconies in the annex, across from each other. It was perfect. Upon our arrival, the staff was friendly and eager to assist in any way. Shout out to Kingsley for helping us to our rooms and being extra helpful. The air conditioning was on and the small room was very clean. We had a lovely dinner in town and a nice walk to scope out the area. The morning coffee and banana bread was delicious and just enough to get us going early on our daily adventures. I cannot say enough about the location! We were able to walk to many new and exciting places. The biology center, stunning hikes, and various shops all were fabulous. Marylou at the historical society was a GEM and a wealth of information. The Highlander Mountain House was just what these 2 Northwest women needed for our 4 night getaway and introduction to the Southeast. Thank you!"

"My family and I have stayed at this location 3 times as this is an excellent "base camp" to enjoy the local mountain scenery. Each time has been better than the last. Our family appreciated the proximity to local shopping. Our rooms were clean as were the rest of the facilities. We have stayed in winter, early spring and the latest was in the summer and the kids really enjoyed the pool."

"I got very ill while staying at this property, and they were so very accommodating, even were going to allow me to stay an extra night to try to recuperate. My daughter was able to come and get me to take me home and they did not charge me for the extra night. Also, they cleaned the room and changed my sheets in the middle of my stay to keep me comfortable. Excellent staff and front desk personnel."

"We have stayed here several times in the last three years. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, but this past time, there was food left in the fridge and drink rings on the countertops. Nothing to freak out about, but just not as good as it has been in the past. Also, if you are not a pet person, I don't recommend staying on the first floor. That is where they usually put their guests with animals and the rooms smell like pets. The free breakfast is modest, but good. Overall, our stays have been very nice."

"I've stayed at Bridge Creek several times. It is consistently clean and comfortable. It is in the heart of Clayton, and just steps from the shops and restaurants along its main street. Parking is available along the side of the hotel on the street, and in a parking lot steps aways from the side entrance. I've never had an issue parking there. They offer free coffee in the mornings, and have a limited selection of food and drinks for sale in the lobby. There are several breakfast options within a two-minute walk or less from the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel."
