Gîte LEGOTINE: Large farmhouse restored

  • Large Mansion of approximately 240 m in the middle of a very quiet countryside. (Old farm, organic and sustainable land) A large fully equipped kitchen, large living rooms, 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, 2 separate toilets, a large landing. Heated swimming pool with double flat bottom (11 / 5m) terrace in natural stone and wood. Covered summer kitchen, storage shelters for sunbathing and barbecue. Fenced wooded grounds, parking and petanque field. Possibility to go to the market on foot because located 1.5 km from the village with shops, crafts and supermarket as well as a cinema and tennis courts. Located 20 minutes from Bergerac airport (or train station).

    Cleaning is not included, nor are bed linen and towel sets.
    Optional cleaning service available for €180.
    Bed linen rental €15 per bed and towel set €12 per person (1 bath towel and 1 beach towel).

Gite Legotine, has been beautifully renovated and is completely in the countryside. They have every appliance you can think of so you will feel right at home. The only thing that could do with an upgrade is the TV. Eric and Juilette are very easy to talk with too.

We enjoyed our time in this lovely house. Beautiful pool, well equipped kitchen and close to the nearby bastide towns. Plenty of room as we had a 5-month-old baby with us.

The property is well located nearby a village but secluded too. The host were lovely and the villa had all kinds of amenities. The pool area was amazing with views on fields. It was a nice touch to have a welcoming bottle of local rosé, pâté and fresh plums. Loads to visit nearby.

Fantastic family stay

Great property for a family holiday with spacious communal spaces and ample bedrooms. Lots of equipment to entertain all ages with the boules pitch being particularly popular with all. It was difficult to drag people away from the fantastic pool which has both deep and shallow ends with steps down which was great for the children in our party. Location is excellent with the facilities of Castillones (including a supermarket) easily accessible by car and walkable in under 30 minutes through lovely countryside. We were surrounded by sunflowers at the time of our visit and the views were lovely. Communication with the hosts was good and it was a pleasure to deal with Madame Tornier on her regular visits to attend to the pool and all in all we had a great time at Gite Legotine.

Lovely property let down by absence of pool heater

The property was excellent. Lovely, cool inside the house, well equipped kitchen, lots of bedroom options for families, large outside area including covered dining area near the pool where we had our family meals. Pleasantly rural, easily accessible and not overlooked. Several excellent markets nearby (Villereal Saturday and Issigeac Sunday being the best). Disappointingly, although advertised as having a heated pool, the pool heater was not working. This was a major issue for us as we had two small children and had to guarantee the pool was accessible for them even if the weather was cool. We chose this property specifically because it had a pool heater. The owner explained that the heater blew out in early May, over a month before we arrived, but it had not been repaired and he had not communicated this to us. The pool was covered when we arrived and was dirty, needing 2 sessions with the pool cleaner before we could go in. The air temperature before our arrival had been low 30s but no effort had been made to uncover the pool during the day to warm it up, to mitigate the pool heater absence. As a result the pool was a chilly 22C and it was 3 days of uncovering and covering the pool before the pool temperature reached 26C. When we left the pool was clean and a warm 31.5C for the next guests. Had the owner shown the same consideration to us to make sure the pool was as warm as it could be, the pool heater failure could have been overlooked, but regrettably they did not.

Skøn og smukt feriebolig beliggende på landet. Stilheden, udsigten og indretningen er perfekt og vi havde den dejligste ferie i skønne rammer. Vi nød opholdet og glædede os over, at et område, som allerede er velkendt for os, kunne give nye, dejlige oplevelser og så havde vi den dejligste kommunikation med Madame, som på trods af forskelligt sprog lykkedes. Vi var heldigvis begge lattermilde og kunne grine af evt. misforståelser. Vi kunne have ønsket, at man havde sparet alle andre steder end på sengene. To voksne i to uger på 140 cm skummadras, der bulede på midten er simpelthen rigtig ærgerligt at rejse hjem med i bagagen, fordi alt andet var så fint. Sengene alene kan afholde os fra at komme tilbage og det er rigtig ærgerligt, når alt andet var så godt.

Perfect home for two weeks

This was a holiday postponed from last year. Communications with the owner were always and have been swift and helpful. Having finally come away we would readily stay at the gite again. Lovely private setting, well equipped and easy to keep cool in the hot weather. We loved having Castillonnes a walking distance away.

8 jours dans le Lot et Garonne, entre Villereal et Castillonnes.

Belle maison confortable avec beaucoup d’espace et rénovée avec goût. Piscine agréable avec salon et salle à manger d’été. Des jeux de jardin et une table de Ping-pong : tout était parfait sauf les deux jours de pluie mais la maison n’y était pour rien.

Beautiful property

We stayed as a family ranging from 80 years old to 2 years in ages. The property was easy to find, only 20 minutes from Bergerac airport. It was spotlessly clean and big enough for the 8 adults and 4 children in our party. It is in a beautiful setting and the pool area was lovely. The beds are a little hard and we could have done with some more pillows but in saying that it would not stop us from returning. I contacted Cyril a few times with questions during our stay and he was extremely helpful. We will definitely try to return next year.

Great week in a lovely maintained property. The kids loved the pool, we loved all the amenities and the quiet location, although not being far from tourist location. A great place!
