An unlikely place in the mountains of the Elba island where I like to stop by when mountain biking, the Tonietti mausoleum was in fact never used as the family grave it was intended for. There is an amazing view of the sea and the island if you manage to climb the cast iron spiral staircase which is in poorly shape and leads to the second floor.

"We really enjoyed our time here - we loved the terrace and the private garden and how well it was furnished and decorated. It‘s just a few steps away from restaurants, cafes, a supermarket and most important: the waterfront. The town is cute and was the perfect homebase for us. "This is a stunning villa, with breathtaking views, perfectly situated to reach Capoliveri and Porto Azzuro, two of the nicest towns on the whole Island. The check in/check out process was very easy, our point of contact (Adolfo) was very helpful and on hand to assist if we had any queries."

"Most things overall were OK and the house itself has nice antiques and pretty antique hardware, and nice outdoor patio Host is responsive, but wants a heavy cash deposit for the house and again for the kayaks. The view is lovely. The kayaks are heavy & difficult to use because you have to cross the busy road with them. The beach is used for a dog play area and smells quite bad. N to be or to swim. "

"Checked in early, they were kind enough to hold our luggage but we couldnt get the room because it was 10am. The route to get to the hotel was tough, too many curbs and single car roads the parking was complicated and seemed sus. Upon getting to our room, our luggage was there waiting in the room, but the hotel and room seemed like a prison. The hotel was outdated and didnt feel comfortable. They were nice enough to put a crib inside the room without us asking for our baby."
