"The hotel is on a square in a lovely part of town, with free parking available on the square and a street back too. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with a small pool and space to lounge in the sun. The rooms were very clean and the electric blinds kept out the sun brilliantly. The staff didn't speak much english but we muddled through."

"This is an old house, with some interesting history & furnishings. It is not a hotel, it’s a B&B, with 3-4 bedrooms and the owners live upstairs. The ( ensuite) bathrooms are very dated. The ( included) breakfasts are served at 9am, but the staff are very helpful and did provide breakfast earlier when we asked. "We just came from a wonderfull stay at this paradise. The service was at it finest, and the location to. We were so lucky, that the staff (Susanna) upgraded our room to a supirior, because there were one free. The room was so beautifull - the combination of wood, stone and “farm” style has sat an impression of us. You really need to experience this place. Both the location, but very much the service indeed. Incredible breakfeast, haven’t got anyting near this standard for the money before....

The hospitality was good and room clean but unfortunately there was no heating in the room, were very cold first night. Without asking the 2nd night an additional blanket was added but we were colder than the first night. The next morning we had breakfast, I tried locating the owner could not find her,so I left her note letting her know that we were seeking other arrangements and would not be staying...

"The quinta is located at one of the side valleys linked to the Sour, with no river views. Instead, no less than 3 major roads are visible - and their noise is present. The "spa" only accommodates 2 persons and requires an advance reservation, thus could not be used. Just as the bath, because it was broken. Rotten "complimentary" mandarins. Poor breakfast, only available from 8:30. Set dinner with no choice of meals. If you are willing to cancel your reservation, even if it was made a month in...

"Casas de Campo was like staying at a B&B, the owners were so helpful and welcoming that we had some estate made Port wine and ate the grapes harvested by the grandma. The kids had so much fun in the bunk beds and in the pool. Thank you Jose & João"

"Spectacular B&B! The suite apartment was stunning, large and comfortable. Sparkling clean and also so beautifully decorated! The balcony has a beautiful view. The common areas are also amazing for hanging by the pool or grabbing a drink. The service was also incredible! Breakfast was delicious and very complete with lots of local charm. "

She doesn’t speak English, but between a little Spanish on our part and sign language, it was a wonderful experience. We learned a little Portuguese! Would stay again if ever in the area."
