Go see old town Kranj. Take time to stroll through the villages north of Jana all the way to Strrmol castle. Its all walkable. Strmol castle wasn't open when I went there.

"I had a beautiful, spacious corner room. As I was in transit to another part of Slovenia, the hotel’s proximity to the train station was very helpful. The staff was very friendly. And the breakfast buffet was wonderful."
