We had a wonderful stay! The home was cozy with lots of amenities. The interior is historic and simply gorgeous. Highly recommend and looking forward to staying again!
We used this cute house as headquarters for a long weekend exploring the area. Loved the location and historical significance of the house. Very cozy and clean.
I loved staying at this small historic house -- it was decorated in a very appropriate and charming style. the beds were very comfortable and I especially liked the floorplan of the house.
The property is exactly as pictured! Perfect for an over night after visiting Longwood Gardens for the day. Extra special touch of a Christmas tree made the space extra cozy and so nice to catch up with friends! Would love to stay again for our annual Longwood trip!

This property was close to everything we wanted to do. It had 3 bedrooms which is so nice to stay when there are 3 adults. The hostess communicated everything we needed to know.
This location offers great access to Longwood Gardens and other cute spots in town. This location was super cute and very cozy. The only downsides to this spot was that the bedrooms are all in close proximity and the beds and pillows were firm. The host made sure our stay was welcome and kept good communication with us! I would recommend this location!
This cozy Spring House Cottage was the perfect romantic getaway for me and my wife. The cottage was quaint, rustic, very comfortable and very easy to find. We were visiting friends nearby and wanted a local hopping off spot to visit the Brandywine River Museum. Our host was very helpful and easy to communicate with. A delightful find !
Perfect place for our weekend family stay. Everything was available as detailed in the listing. Our hostess was very accommodating and communicated clearly and responsively. Thank you so much!
We were a mom with 2 grown sons in town for a family event. The cottage is just as described and wonderfully decorated and appointed. We felt right at home for our 2 nights there. Our host Ivana was helpful throughout our stay and beyond when I thought I'd left my jewelry case there (didn't). Great location and just far enough off the main street. Just a wonderful place to stay.
So much to do in Brandywine Valley and this home was a perfect home base. The location was close to everything - historic sites, antique shops, wineries, great restaurants and Longwood Gardens. It’s advertised as “cozy” and we found it charming and comfortable. Loved the excellent communication, ease of entry and departure, and warm welcome from our hostess. It was a perfect weekend getaway.
The house was well supplied and plenty of towels and linens. The owners created very warm and cozy environment. It was lovely coming into a warm house from the cold weather.
This cottage is in a premium location, very thoughtfully equipped and with the additional benefit of an attentive host. The property description is accurate and should be read carefully: steps lead down to the cottage. It is a historical building with incredibly thick walls, offering great soundproofing. Some quirks in layout as mentioned by the host.
My three young children, my husband and I stayed at the Spring House to visit Longwood Gardens and the Brandywine area. Our kids loved the “coziness of the house” - in fact, my 8-year-old daughter said she would like to own it. The only issue I would note is that it is closer to the road than I would prefer, so you could hear traffic. It is very convenient to restaurants, cafés, and other sites.
Ivana was very accomodating and thoughtful of our specific needs. She even provided some wood for the fire pit so our family can enjoy an outdoor activity together. Clean, even had snacks and water available for us! Road noise wasn’t an issue probably due to air conditioner and fan background noise. You must appreciate.quirky historic homes to fully enjoy your stay, as it’s definitely an older home with older home/property attributes. Lovely experience overall
Great Location. Lovely Cottage. Had everything wecould need and more.
Ivana created such a lovely, serene and private space for guests. Our group was all adults - but there was provisions in the closets in case you had a baby. Everything about this place was definition of charm. We live in the area but rented this vrbo because our a/c went out during a particularly nasty heatwave. I would 100% book this place again if we were to have out of town guests that needed a bit more space/privacy.
Property is so close to movie theater, shopping (grocery, mall and everything else you could want) great proximity to everything. Property comes with visiting deer and other wildlife. 💜💜💜 A+++++++++
My two sisters and I enjoyed this mid-week stay in Chadds Ford. The rooms were as pictured online and as noted, this home is set back from, but on a major road. While a little noisy, that also means that it is very convenient to popular sites like Longwood Gardens and the Brandywine River Museum. As it was rainy, we didn't have a chance to enjoy the porch, though it looked inviting.
Ivana was gracious, sending notes to ensure we were comfortable and all was well. The welcome sign, snacks, and neatly set kitchen table were lovely touches!
Ivana communicates well and promptly. The house is exactly like what the listing said. Cozy, well decorated and comfortable. The outdoor space is wonderful -- we got there late and were welcomed by two cute fawns.
It is close to a busy road, so a sound machine is a must. But the outdoor space is isolated and away from the road (hence, the deer visits). Also, note that going behind the antique shop is a safer route when leaving the rental house.
They have a pack-n-play and high chair. Beds are comfortable.
We will definitely book this again next time we visit family.
Just spent the weekend at this property for a girls trip with my mom and sister. The host was great with all necessary communication, was very quick to reply and the check in process was super simple. The property was clean and had everything we needed for a weekend stay and more! All linens were provided, bathroom had shampoo/conditioner and soap. Tons of pillows and blankets, tv with streaming access. The house was super cute and perfect for 2 nights away. We enjoyed a few local wineries and while we planned to go to philly, the weather kept us back and we enjoyed a cozy night in watching movies. Beds were comfortable and the house had plenty of splace for what we needed. I highly recommend this for a weekend get away and we plan to book it again!
If you are looking for modern, sleek and trendy, this may not be for you. But! If you like cozy, warm and historical, then this is for you. Our family stayed here because of a wedding near by and it was a great place for our home base. It is nuzzled between an antique shop and the woods and nobody else around. It is some what close to the road but we never noticed it, even with my one child that has to have it absolutely quiet to go to sleep had no problem. We did experience a bit of a problem when we were there but the host acted quickly to remedied the situation and we were thankful. We loved the little things that they did such as decorating for Christmas, snacks, bottled water and the ever so needed hot chocolate coming in from the cold. There is many great thing to do and eat within a very short drive.Yes, we would come back again, especially near Christmas time. Safe travels, Cheers!
Adorable cottage decked out in Christmas charm! Perfectly located close to Longwood after a day of exploring. And highly recommend Hank’s for breakfast.
Historic building, all the amenities. Enjoyed the deck. We ubered everywhere and used food delivery, no restaurants in safe walking distance (we did not have a car).
