"Very close to the train station and good enough for a one night stay. Rooms were clean but the hallway carpets were disgusting and need to be replaced. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was great."

"Très jolie maison dans un joli écrin de verdure. Si il fait trop soleil, possibilité de quitter la jolie terrasse et de déjeuner à l'ombre d'un bel arbre. Tout est compris draps torchons serviettes et en quantité (pas comme on a déjà pu avoir), c'est un très bon rapport qualité/prix !La propriétaire est très sympathique. Allez-y et régalez-vous de ce si beau département "

"Most helpful and friendly family owned hotel staff! Very safe on site locked parking. The hotel has a fantastic swimming pool and outdoor patio. This is not a 5 star hotel, but the staff make you feel like you are their favorite customer. Lots of open air feel to this place. AC worked great."

"A superb manorial house set in a tranquil woodland. Staying here is a chance to live in history. The decoration and art throughout is extraordinary. The kitchen is well-equipped and charming with a massive fireplace. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, the beds comfortable. The grounds and the pool are beautiful and offer wonderful views over the valley. Pascal, the owner, is both welcoming and very helpful. Some might be put off by the fact that the property is not air conditioned. We visited during a heat wave and we were perfectly comfortable. The walls are stone, several feet thick and by the simple habit of closing the shutters during the hottest part of the day, and opening them when the temperature drops in the evening, we easily maintained a pleasant climate inside. We are a family group and found many games for the children to play, plus the tennis courts, ping pong table and more. And of course, the area around is full of fascinating sights, both Périgueux and Bergerac are an easy drive away, not to mention prehistoric cave art, wineries and more. Highly recommended."

Chateau des Reynats

"The Chateau is well set back from the nearby road and there is no traffic noise. There is lots of parking on the site in several areas. We stayed in the Chateau rather than the more modern accommodation nearby. A lift was available to our room and since it was very warm ,40C, our room had an air conditioning unit, in the room. The room had lovely features and was very comfortable. Dinner in the lovely restaurant was first class. The chef adjusted dishes where appropriate because of my Coeliac disease. The staff were very experienced and added considerably to the enjoyment of dinner. Breakfast in the conservatory had a wide range of options with very helpful staff. Reception set a great tone with a warm and friendly welcome and departure. We highly recommend this Chateau."

"The breakfast was ok. However, not having air conditioning was rough during this heatwave. The property itself is very pretty and would come back just not during the warmer months. "

"Great location for exploring the beautiful historic city of Perigeaux located within easy walking distance of the center with free parking just around the corner. Clean, comfortable with very nice bar/restaurant and terrace. Breakfast buffet was very good but evening meal was poor. With the exception of one stroppy young waitress who seemed to resent that we were not fluent in French, all of the staff were excellent and very helpful. No hesitation to recommend."
