Amazing house to stay in. From booking the place to leaving communication with Mr Yannis was excellent without being intrusive. The house itself was exactly as the photos show. Superb. Spacious, airy, cool ( plenty of air conditioning and ceiling fans). Comfy beds , large balcony that was shady by lunch time making it usable all day. Well appointed kitchen and amazing welcome pack including a fruit bowl, tomatoes, coffee, teas, butter the most delicious orange blossom honey, olive oil, jam. Full bottle of washing up liquid, washing tabs and dishwasher tabs provided so no need to buy any of the basics that one often has to.
Location wise you are in the middle of Chania Old town, short walk to the harbour, about 20 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes from the bus station. There is no parking for taxi to drop you off but our driver dropped us about 3 minutes away so don’t let that pup you off. There are restaurants literally on the door step but the excellent sound proofing meant there was no noise disturbance. You are spoilt for choice in terms of where to eat, so many great places. The local shops in the Old Town are plentiful and offer selections of ceramics, olive wood items, clothes, olive oil, raki etc etc. it’s worth seeking our the local markets on Thursday, Saturday and Monday - all held at different locations in the old town.
Will definitely be returning to Dorotheou house and highly recommend a stay there.

Perfect location, beautiful property with all amenities, wonderful and responsive host
Nassos met us upon arrival and shared all features of beautiful Dorotheou house. We were provided with eggs, tomatoes, cheese, fruit, wine and more. The house has three wonderful outdoor spaces: we especially loved the large terrace where our group could gather at night. The house was lovely, well decorated and clean as a pin. Nassos helped arrange all taxis for us. A perfect place to stay in Chania!
