Conveniently located with parking which was a huge plus. Check in was vary easy and the staff was friendly and pleasant. Our room was no frills but clean. We booked a double and our beds were two twins pushed together. about 20 minutes outside of Chania, but with a car, it was not a problem and preferable to staying in the city.

I am absolutely blown away by the level of service at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, every detail was taken care of with such care and professionalism that I felt like royalty. The staff went above and beyond in ways I never expected — anticipating my needs before I even voiced them. I’ve stayed in many hotels around the world, but this experience was truly next level. I cannot recommend this place highly enough – it redefined hospitality for me and my 15 yeas old son!

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub. Die Gastgeber waren unglaublich freundlich und auch das Personal egal ob am Frühstück/Pool oder das houskeeping. Vorallem sowas von Kinderfreundlich wie wir es noch in keinem anderen Urlaubsort erlebt haben. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt, sehr sauber und ruhig - abgesehen von den Wellen - aber das Geräusch hörten wir sehr gerne, dafür sind wir ans Meer gefahren. Die Einkaufmöglichkeiten sind super, die Busverbindung z.B. nach Chania hat perfekt geklappt, so dass man in zwei Wochen Urlaub kein Auto vermisst hat. Auch gab es viele gute Essensmöglichkeiten, egal ob für einen Snack zwischendurch oder ein leckeres Abendessen zu absolut moderaten Preisen. Wir haben bereits für nächtes Jahr wieder angefragt :)

Beach studios location is fantastic - best sand of the entire strip. Nice to have outdoor shower to rinse. Cute setup overall. Apartments up the hill would be more quiet as they are far removed from the main road.

Stanza sulla spiaggia. Ma davvero!!! Le onde del mare sono il sottofondo di base. Stupendo. Proprietari presenti ed estremamente cordiali come pure il personale. Rania in particolare fantastica, disponibile, gentilissima. Organizzano gite di vario tipo e ti aiutano in qualsiasi cosa. Per me è stata una splendida vacanza.

Ideally situated on the sandy beach @ Kato Stalos. A 20 minute walk to the busy resort of Agia marina although there are plenty of bars and restaurants locally. Bus stop opposite for your trip into Chania. Studios were spotlessly and bathrooms were clean and modern. Nice toiletries too. Maria and Ermis are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble. No charge for safe and air con.

It was a mistake to choose this hotel. I read lot of comments about hospitality and the welcoming of owners...Unfortunately, during our stay ( 9 days) we didn't see them at all, they wouldn't bother to say hello or collect a room key when we were leaving . During our stay we only communicated by e-mail((( I highly recommend not to book room Nr.1! as it has a road view and is very noisy day and night . When we asked if they could change our room ( the worst one in the hotel ) lady owner responded in a rude way. Cleaning was good, but one day we had been given awful "new" towels: they were shades of grey in color with yellow marks on them. When I called the owner , I was told that towels were really clean and marks are made by laundry services, which sounded ridiculous, also without any apologies they were changed immediately. Position of beach apartments is good, the hotel is located on the beach...but they don't give you any umbrellas or sun beds, beach isn't their property, so to enjoy sun beds nearby on the beach you need to be a customer of the nearest bar or restaurant to get them “for free”, but you should do it early in the morning otherwise you'll remain without. The beach wasn't clean through our stay..(( There are a lot of beach apartments in this area and all of them have their own umbrellas and sun beds on the beach and look much better then Hermes one. So I don't recommend it.

Lovely studio apartment on the beach.

We had a lovely week in early April before the main holiday season, so appreciated the beach being quiet with very few tourists. It was warm with some unseasonably hot days (up to 28 degrees). As well as swimming in the sea, we took full advantage of the pool that belongs to the Hermes apartments, a few hundred yards up a slope, with a beautiful view of the mountains. Great to have an apartment on the beach! In early April there were a handful of tavernas open in Kato Stalos, and enjoyed 'Maria's' (others were due to reopen in coming weeks) and a local supermarket open daily till late. This suited us fine (family of 4 with kids 14 and 10). We visited Chania a few times (a local bus service or taxi fare of 12 euros) and enjoyed strolling around the venetian harbour and old town where there are a host of tavernas and shops selling traditional crafts. We visited Knossos (on bus from Iraklion) and then Archaeological museum - out of season the museum closed at 3pm, so advisable to visit Knossos early to make time for museum. We had a guide at Knossos, and although quite expensive, brought to our visit an enlivening mix of history and myth, which fired our imaginations. Again, visiting before the main season meant we were crowd free. We took a Landrover safari trip up into the mountains to where the shepherds go in the summer months - wonderful views, informative and entertaining guides. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again, and probably at same time of year.

Two types of accommodation at Hermes Beach

There are 8 units at the Beach - 2 beach front and 6 with minimal beach side views from the small balcony however, up the hill about 200 metres they have newer, larger units with a nice balcony overlooking the rooftops and beach below. All have A/C small fridge and use of the beach below and a grass courtyard for sunbathing. The pool is up at the newer units on the hill and has spectacular views. NO TV in any rooms but Free Wi-FY .

Dejligt strandhotel

Vi valgte at tage til dette hotel, fordi det var til rimelige penge, lå lige til stranden, havde lejligheder i stedet for værelser, og at der var mini-køkken.. Vores forventninger til hotellet blev ikke skuffet, for det opfylder det, som bliver lovet.. vi var heldige, at få den bedst beliggende lejlighed, med egen terrasse, og 4 trin ned, så var man i det varme sand.. der var aircon inkluderet, mini-køkkenet havde et rimeligt stort køleskab til mad- og drikkevarer, og roomservice-personalet var en sød og venligt smilende pige.. Ejerens forældre bor på stedet, og er også søde og venlige, og lige over vejen, så er man oppe på deres andet hotel, hvor der er en rimelig stor swimmingpool, med tilhørende afgrænset børnepool, til fri afbenyttelse.. Indvendigt virker hotellet lidt slidt, men ikke mere end at det hele fungerede, og prisen er jo så også derefter..

Great location

The hotel location is perfect for those who want to bathe and lay in the sun. The beach is right at your door, a small private beach, very nice and clean. Ideal for small kids. There is a couple of nice bars and small restaurant right at the beach. I'd suggest "Amina's" tavern: good, home made food for reasonable money. Nice and clean. The hotel's stuff was very helpful and friendly.

Bra läge alldeles intill stranden. Trevliga ägare som erbjuder gästerna att även gå några hundra meter till deras andra hotell där det finns en lugn och väldigt fin pool + bar. Enkla rum med ac. och ett enklare kök med kyl, kokplattor, vattenkokare och diskbänk. Stenhård säng. Dålig dusch. För 10-15 euro tar taxin er till Shania. För ca 50 euro hyr ni en enkel bil för en dag vilket rekomenderas. Lyssna med hotell ägaren vad det finns att uppleva på ön.

Excellent location on a very beautiful sandy beach

we had a family vacation to Chania with two kids (12 and 5 yrs old). I was looking for a studio on a sandy beach. we got one with two bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom immediately located on the beach. the location is served well with restaurants and supermarkets. it was also very easy to move and visit the downtown with the bus stop just infront of the hotel. the staff were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it for eaither a family or romanitic vacation
