The property itself is beautiful, and the location is amazing and very convenient. However, my experience was affected by the communication with the property management, which was primarily through WhatsApp. Unfortunately, the communication was not as responsive or helpful as I expected. More importantly, I did not feel safe staying here. The property is on the first floor and feels very open and accessible to the public. There were several homeless people in the immediate area, and one morning I came out of my room and found a homeless person sleeping directly in front of my door. And she got very upset with us, cause we were disturbing her sleep in her words. I contacted the property management. They had to call the police to remove her from there. I felt that there were not adequate security measures or protection for guests staying at the property. Because of this, despite the beautiful property and excellent location, I did not feel comfortable or secure during my stay.

Great place!

The Madonna del Mare is a sweet spot, close to everything. Our room was spacious, clean and comfy. Our hosts were thoughtful and informative. Great view from our room!

I absolutely loved this property! The location was ideal for walking to restaurants and local bars. The room was one of the most unique rooms I’ve ever stayed in. It was beautiful and clean, and had a nice view of the port. The staff reached out to me ahead of time to ensure that they were there to show us to our room. It’s a lovely boutique hotel with so much history. I would definitely stay there again!

Great property. Well appointed. Website pictures don't do it justice. The staff is very helpful. Very close walking to shops, harbor and good restaurants. The only issue is parking is a nightmare.

Great jacuzzy

A well-appointed room that exceeded expectations. However, noise from outside could be heard, affecting the tranquility. The check-in and check-out policies were unclear, and a pre-booking verification is recommended. Despite these inconveniences, the room quality made it a worthwhile stay.

Noisy — couldn’t sleep!

Overall the place was nice with a balcony facing the square by the harbor. However, there was loud music from the bar in the square every night and even after the music stopped the noise from the bar was loud. We didn’t sleep for 3 nights and left one night early. Also note that there is no staff onsite ever — this is more like a home rental without amenities than a hotel.

Pas de stationnement malgré que c’était indiqué dans la description de l’hôtel, et ça nous a causé des problèmes. Oubliez complètement cet hôtel si vous avez une auto. Pas de réception…. ca non plus c’est pas commode, autant prendre un Airbnb.

Beautiful property and very convenient location to Old Town. The one downside is parking. I read somewhere that the property had parking, but it turned out to not have any. We were lucky enough to find parking nearby when we arrived, but then we didn't want to drive anywhere after that for fear of losing our parking spot. Otherwise, everything with this hotel was great!

We went during the off season so they only inconvenience was not having 24/7 service. We just had to let them know what time we were arriving so there was someone at the front desk. Didn't have too much trouble finding the place and it was an easy walk to the main square. Our room didn't have the best view but again very minor issue.

Madonna Del Mare was a pleasant surprise upon opening the door. The room was beautiful. It was spotless. The bed was very comfortable. The AC was cold on the blistering hot 100 degree days. The location is perfect and walking to the shops and restaurants of old town takes only minutes. Parking was a bit of a challenge but that’s to be expected in this location. The front desk staff provided directions on where to attempt parking and we eventually found a spot that was not too far away.

The property has a small window with some sea view.the aircondition was set to a fixed temperature that did nothing for winter times so the house was cold. the fridge was leaking water out on the floor. there was only one key for two people.

Mukava sänky ja ilmastointi. Majoitus erillisessä rakennuksessa, joka ei vastaa annettua kuvaa millään lailla. Sijainti vilkkaan kadun vieressä ja melutaso sen mukainen. Pyyhkeet vaihdettiin ensimmäisen kerran vasta lähtöä edeltävänä päivänä. Vessassa voimakas viemärin haju. Yritimme poistaa hajuhaitan lisäämällä vettä lattiakaivoon. Ranskalainen parveke aukesi suljetulle rakennustyömaalle/parkkipaikalle, jossa jätteitä. Maisemointiin käytetyt kasvit miltei kuivuuteen kuolleet, joita yritimme pelastaa kastelemalla.

Very noisy on a night, air con didn’t work or the hairdryer or the safe, needed a code for the tv no instructions, no one there when we arrived and the same with another couple and they had a code that didn’t work, balcony very small glass floor with constant light on, maybe ask people’s ages we were kept awake till 4am most nights. We are shattered we needed the doors windows open as not a fan of air on however that didn’t work so had to shut everything to bloke the noise. Really not a nice holiday owing to the room.

The room itself was stunning in design and function. Lovely oasis in the heart of Chania! My only issue was finding the place. For some reason my maps app didn’t like the link sent and I do better with Apple Maps. But I was stressed, it was getting late etc. Manager met me upon arrival and was very kind and helpful and sites to see, gave me a map etc. also directed me to a nearby parking lot where I was able to park for free! Manager also clarified the actual address which helped because then I was able to input that into my preferred maps app and found my way back easily every time I ventured away. Overall I recommend this place for a fabulous stay!

The room was good, bed was comfy and it was nice to have the jacuzzi in there. The location was great because it was so close to the port and shops. Our room was ground floor directly onto the street so it was a little noisy with neighbours. The reception is only open when you organise with Renia over Whatsapp, so you need to plan on advance when you want to check-in and leave your luggage. Only negatives were some days our towels were taken but we weren't given any more so we didn't have hot tub towels and only one large towel between us and no reception to collect more from. We also found out that there was an occupied building nearby by anarchists that had recently been taken back. There were then protests outside the hotel and riot police around for days. Not the fault of the hotel but I can imagine that will be ongoing.

Great hotel in Chania!

Stayed for 2 days. Hotel is perfectly located near the heart of Old Town Chania. AC is excellent, great water pressure, and the team at the hotel is top notch. The hotel itself is a converted historic building so each room is unique and charming. Love that our room had a living room and a separate bedroom. Would stay again and highly recommend!!

Great hotel in an old building located in the very center of the historical part. Nice atmosphere, great stylish interiors, comfortable bed, big bathroom. The host was very nice. One of the best boutique hotels!
