"From the moment you arrive the staff make you feel very welcome.always smiling and asking if you need anything.location could not be better and the rooms are excellent. We ate at the hotel on 2 evenings and the food and service was honestly 1st class. the breakfast was also very very good with eggs cooked to your liking,all the usual cooked items,smoked salmon,fruit and fresh squeezed fruit juices.it was something that made you want to get up for each morning."

"I went back here for an organised meal. Single room, overnight, with breakfast was small, but I had a good night sleep as it was only booked to avoid an extortionate taxi fare home. The set meal was great, the staff really plesant and attentive. The only downside was two of my courses came late. When it did come I was very happy ."

"My room was comfortable and spacious. I was on the third floor, with access only by the stairs, so I wouldn’t recommend for someone less able. The restaurant was exceptionally good, and I enjoyed a fantastic evening meal, as well as a really good breakfast."

"2nd visit to GS within 6 months. 1st visit wasnt a fluke, and this hotel is perfect (almost - read on).... Location, incredibly hospitable and efficient staff from top to bottom, cleanliness, food and drink, etc. Will definitely be back upon it's re-opening in April. The ONLY negative is the fact that there is no aircon in the building. It's southerly facing aspect can't help either in this respect. I heard from the staff that 35° in the summer were quite uncomfortable. Yes I know each room has a fan, and I realise the building is older and it cannot be retro fitted, but a mobile unit at least in each room would help a good deal. IMO it's an issue that cant be ignored for much longer."
