"Overall our stay was excellent. Hotel is well situated close to the old town with a 5 minute walk to the main sights. Room was clean and spacious for a European room. Only negative was the noise of cars and people. We had to leave our window open to get come cooling in the room and there was a lot of late night yelling (Saturday night) and cars driving around the corner. May be quieter on the other side of the building. Breakfast was great. Would say again if I visited in the future."

"The breakfast was good, fresh and tasty. AC was not working for the hotel. It is still off for the winter season. It was 18-21 Celsius during the days and evening were 4-10 at night. Rooms were warm, thankfully hotel provided fan for some relief at night. At hotel May 10-12th, 2026. Staff were great! The hotel was clean and organized "

"The low scores I have given no way reflect the friendliness and helpfulness of most of the staff, especially Hedi and Mesca. The location of the Vanderbilt Urbani is also excellent. The beds were super comfortable too. The problem with this hotel is the lack of investment by the owners to keep the rooms and common areas updated and maintained. Unfortunately when we walked into the dimly lit hotel, (not sure dark corridors are appreciated anymore) and up to our River Side room we were so disappointed. The carpet was threadbare, the walls marked and paint flaking, the dirty mastic in the tired bathroom, and the broken wardrobe door. The furniture was old and mismatched with no comfortable seating area even though the size of the room would have afforded it. There was also a nasty smell from the bathroom, and when we came back from an evening out we had ants crawling around the bathroom and bedroom floor which was dealt with quickly by the receptionist. The pool needs some maintenance as well especially on the uneven wooden surround with screws sticking out, and my friend even got a splinter. It is such a shame as the Vanderbilt Urbani could be lovely if some money was spent on it to refurbish it to a much higher standard which considering the price is certainly necessary."

"Don't be fooled by the pictures. It's a run down hotel who's best days are behind it. No Air conditioning! -- Their empathetic suggestion was to open the windows, but the street noise went on till 2AM. Supposedly it was season switching, but the thermostat had limitations, so i think it's about saving money. The two pictures show the front of the hotel (which is now a clothing store), and the breakfast room (which is nice). But that's about it. The fitness center was a joke. No Bar. Empty restaurant at night. Seems the hotel is is rapid decline and needs a management overhaul in the worst way. Sorry to say. Good location and great 'bones" but it was really bad."
