"What a lovely hotel! Situated close to the beautiful town of Grasmere, and on the edge of the lake which was so picturesque you could sit and watch the view for hours - we did this whilst sipping a drink on the outside seating area. The spa was a perfect way to relax after a day of walking. We got the bus to walk the Fairfield Horseshoe but there are so many other walks to choose from (the bus stops are a fee meters away in either durection). In relation to the hotel it was clean, the rooms were lovely (we upgraded from the standard one) and the beds were comfy. The hotel staff were friendly and very attentive. There waa a great breakfasf choice and extra options were available to be cooked outside if the hot and cold buffet range. We had an evening meal which was also delicious. The only issue we had was I thought I had booked a 60 min spa treatment but in fact I hadn't. My fault but feel like the website could be updated and the email confirmation provide clearer timings i.e., the length of treatment and not just the start time as I would have realised my mistake. Appreciate this is a me problem, not them, so don't let this stop you from booking... I definitely recommend this hotel and will return myself sometime soon. "

"My friend and I recently stayed here and it was fantastic. We were greeted by Noel at the barrier who was extremely welcoming and never failed to smile when we walked past during our stay. All staff were lovely and nothing was too much for them. We were kindly upgraded to a hot tub room on arrival which was a lovely surprise and really made our stay. Room was excellent. Location was excellent. Will definitely visit again."

"Had a fantastic peaceful solo stay at this elegant hotel on the edge of Lake Windermere, staff were friendly and welcoming especially Pippa who made me feel comfortable as an older single female. The location is fantastic, and you can ditch the car and catch the boat over to Bowness, or you can chill out in the lovely pool and spa area, I hope to return."

"It was a wonderful stay, the only thing I can pick at, which is so minuscule is the fact there is such limited times on the spa use. Even then, I’m being picky. Everything else, I can’t fault, one particular thing I have to mention as a positive is the staff are exceptional. They went out of their way, nothing was too much trouble and they were always available to help or let you know anything you had questions about. Overall, we are planning out another trip to the lakes and this is a possible choice "
