"Sketchy neighborhood. Lots of weed smokers outside main lobby doors. There were easily 8-10 people outside. If by you got stuck between the two sets of doors it created one hell of a hot box. Desk help at night seemed indifferent or non existent at times. If I was not traveling with my adult son I would have a bit apprehensive and scared entering the lobby at 10:pm on a Saturday night while walking dodging the stoned women in their pajamas and the drunk and stoned men just outside the doors. The lobby chairs were full-about 8-10 more people. I Kept looking and asking for check in person. Finally grumpy cat appeared from the back, grunted and we got out key as we had prepaid and pre registered. I made an offhand comment ,”Oh, smells like chlorine,” and grumpy cat snipped back acerbically,“Pool’s closed !” “Well naturally one would assume the pool would be closed at this time of night especially when all of these guests are not in any condition to swim and can barely walk to their rooms. I can imagine that it can quite become a huge hotel liability and one you as the manager on duty would not want to undertake.” I said. One shining light -we hadn’t realized that the breakfast closed at 9:30 on a Sunday morning. We went at 9:45 am. The staff graciously accommodated us with fresh fruit, danish, bagel and coffee. Went out of their way and kept apologizing. They were amazing. They did nothing wrong but still kept apologizing. But who closes breakfast on a Sunday at 9:30?"

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lexington Park - Patuxent

"The environment was welcoming. The facility was well-kept. The breakfast buffet delicious and warm. The staff was professional and responsive to our requests. The 1 noteworthy drawback was the 150.00 deposit required at registration."

"Room was to a good standard, comfortable beds and pillows, small decor and cleanliness issues."

"The property was ok. The room was clean and served its purpose. They do offer free breakfast. I would not call what I had breakfast. Cold eggs and a stale muffin. So for the price you it was not worth it."

Quality Inn Solomons - Beacon Marina

"Everything was good, standard hotel/motel stuff: little coffee pot, mini-fridge, microwave, tv,a/c - everything worked as expected, furniture, carpeting, lights, bathroom all looked newish and everything was very clean. Desk folk were pleasant, didn’t have much interaction. The big plus is the location, right by a huge marina (if you like looking at boats) and the Calvert Marine Museum- combines natural history and the commercial history of the area, has the Drum Point lighthouse (you can tour) and a boat tour of Patuxent Harbor, plus fossils, river otters, fish. Calvert Cliffs / Flag Pond parks are a 10 minute drive if you want to dig for fossils yourself. So: comfortable place, very reasonably priced, close to all sorts of stuff; definitely worth it."
