This place is very clean and nice. Staff was pleasant at check in and check out. Breakfast is the typical waffles, cereal, juice coffee, breads, eggs and sausage. I’d say there again.

Great breakfast, air conditioner was turned on before our arrival, so the room was nice and cool. Believe me that is a big, big plus. I wish all hotels would do this. The front counter staff was awesome and got us hooked up with everything that we needed.

Good breakfast selections, room was clean and staff very responsive. Shortcomings were rooms' appliance conditions. Staff responded well to facts that the fan/light unit in bathroom sounded like a jet idling for takeoff by switiching us to another room, where the TV didn't work and the AC unit also failed to work even when staff attempted to rectify situations. Also very responsive in trying to do so and then switching us to a third room where all shortcomings of previous two rooms did work.

Requested in room coffee so didn’t have to go downstairs to other end of the hotel first thing to get a cup of coffee and the staff was very accommodating. They brought up a small coffee machine and two packets each of regular and decaf coffee. However, I didn’t notice that there wasn’t a hairdryer in the room until after I showered, so I had to go to the front desk since there are no in room phones and my text was not responded to. The hairdryers are kept in a small cabinet across from the front desk in a bottom section. It’s an older hotel but everything seems to be well maintained. There was an adequate selection of breakfast items, though I would’ve liked other fresh fruit in addition to the apples that they always have readily available. Overall, it was a good stay and I would go back to the same hotel if I were visiting Russell or Chariton Iowa again.

The staff was so nice and the patio and game room were awesome. Breakfast was good too. The only problem was a pretty strong smoke smell in the room, but that’s understandable since it used to be a Super 8. Great little hotel in a nice small town!

I like that this place is privately owned and the see the vision. I'd stay here again but there was a few things I didnt like. The shower hose was ripped and the bathroom door didnt lock and fully close. Also the floors were clean but I dont think mopped. My socks turned black on the bottom while walking around the room.
