We were staying there because my mom was having knee surgery. I requested (twice) a room as close as I could get. They put us on the 2nd floor, down the hall. There was a bed bug on the bathroom floor this morning. Never! Again!

Regarding staff the desk clerk in the afternoon when I checked in was very unfriendly. But , the man overseeing the breakfast was wonderful ! He made up for the desk clerk. Overall I had a great stay .

A hot tub was not working and had not been working for at least a month we were told. However, when we booked it that information was not given. Or we would not have booked there. The bathrooms are just a toilet and a small shower stall so if you're a pretty big person you are not going to be comfortable. The rack over the toilet was not fastened well and there was a hair on one of the towels. We tried to use the heater and it stank so badly we could only run the fan to try to keep the air moving in the room. The room looks like it's been updated but there are things that have not been addressed and they don't show that in the photos. The staff was wonderful and friendly. We did not use the breakfast so I can't comment on that part.

I felt that the price we paid did not reflect the room. I would have gladly paid $100 for a night here, not nearly $300. Granted, we did come on a Saturday night during peak fall season but the price was still too high. The rooms were clean, but a king sized bed would have been more comfortable. I also appreciated the hot breakfast options but the quality was just average. I wouldn't consider it walkable to downtown Charlevoix.

I wouldn't stay here if it was free!

This might have been the worst hotel, in regards to service, that I have ever stayed. The check-in process was good and the guy that checked us in was very nice. Sadly, everyone else that I witnessed at the front desk never smiled when they were talking to me, or anyone else. Or, when we walked past the desk, they never looked up from their computer to even acknowledge you. The rooms had a little issue as well. The fluorescent lights above the bed and desk area did not all work. There was mold in the shower. When we opened up the window, there were a pile of dead flies in the corner of the sill. They put us in an adjoining room without asking if that was ok. Back in my hotel days, we made sure it was good with the guest before we put them in the room. If it was all we had, then we let them know instead of them being surprised by it. We could hear our neighbors talking very easily. The people above us were very heavy footed, so you could hear every step they made. When I asked about checking out early, I was told that there was a early check out penalty. What?? We were staying from Saturday to Wednesday, check out on Thursday. I asked on Monday evening and I was told that if I checked out early, they were going to charge me through Wednesday. I have never heard of that. I will never stay at this hotel again.

The pool had COLD water being pumped into as verified by other guests, also. When brought to management attention, they sai “you could have went somewhere else! Again. ARRIVING IN THE EVENING
