My wife and I were in town for the weekend and were so happy to find this house. It's located on a nice, quiet road really close to Relik which happens to be one of our favorite wineries. It's close proximity to Jacksonville makes it really easy to enjoy the wineries and other attractions in town. The hosts were great, and check-in was really easy. We will certainly be back when we're in town again.
Relaxing beautiful little cottage in the country. Peaceful and quiet. Great fenced yard for dogs too if you have them. Cute farms with animals all around to enjoy. Close to Jacksonville I recommend it highly

The house was as clean as it could be. It definitely needs some work, the shower looks moldy in the seams. It’s an old country house. I felt comfortable using the kitchen, it was clean. It was a peaceful and quiet area.
The biggest issues for me were the bugs, and the smell. There were earwigs all over inside the house. My husband rinsed probably 5 of them down the drain in the shower. There would be multiple of them crawling around the carpet in the bedroom or crawling on the drapes. They could definitely use the assistance of a pest service.
Then there’s the smell. I don’t know exactly what it was, it wasn’t like rancid, but the house smelled terrible when we first walked in. It was more than just an old house smell, I can’t quite describe it. After being in and out a few days it wasn’t as noticeable, but it was extremely unpleasant walking in to that.
Overall the stay was not bad, I would stay again if I had no other options of hotels in the price range. It wouldn’t be my first choice though.

Sweet little place that was very clean. Owners were pretty much no contact which for us was nice, I'm sure it would have been different if there was an issue. The bridge you cross right after the gate was a bit scary to cross with your vehicle but it held up fine with two vehicles.
Location was quiet and private, perfect for a break from busy schedule. Cottage was charming with especially comfortable couch and bed. Great surroundings for walking the dog.
This cottage was perfect for our visit to historic Jacksonville. Check in was quick and easy. The property was minutes from town yet had a comfortable feel of being in the countryside. The hosts responded quickly to our inquiries. They were kind enough to quickly return a valuable item I left. Elizabeth's Cottage was perfect for our visit. Excellent choice for a lovely area.
The property was surrounded by quiet surrounded by green fields! LOVED seeing all of the stars at night! We had originally planned to have a dog with us so it was nice to have a fenced area. Would like to come back and actually experience some of the local wineries.
Place was pet friendly. Overall clean. Carpets could use a better vacuum clean. Landscaping could use a refresh.I don't think we would have sat outside even if the weather was good. The washer was not working as it should.
We had a wonderful one week stay at the cottage. The location was perfect we enjoyed riding our bikes 1 mile into Jacksonville to explore. Our dogs loved the fenced yard and we loved hearing the horses, cows and the peacock greet us each morning. While the living room furniture was older the beds were delightfully comfortable.
This house was a awesome cute little place! Definitely recommend if you have pets the fenced in yard was nice! 😊

Jess & Matt were great hosts and communicators. Rapid response when I had a question and provided detailed instructions. The added amenities were perfect. Both beds were very comfortable.
Absolutely loved the cottage and how well stocked the kitchen was. Our only complaint was the water pressure was terrible, the shower was more of a dribble, washing dishes was even a challenge. That's the only factor preventing a 5 star rating, they need a new well pump!

Beautiful property! From the squirrels to the grapevine s, so much to look at across the large property! Very quiet! I would suggest reading the informational binder on the kitchen table. It has a lot of useful information like spot on food recommendations and also local emergency information. The history about the property and Elizabeth and Otto, gets you in a curious mood as you sit on the outdoor deck decompressing after a long day. Elizabeth's Cottage is cute and the little details keep your mind stimulated. We never met the owners, but we felt very welcomed by the many little thoughtful details you encounter throughout the cottage. This place is NOT for young Party People, so if that is you, don't bother. The only thing I didn't like was the little bridge you have to drive over. But even that bridge adds to the character of the place. What you see and read online is pretty much what you get, no negative surprises. We HIGHLY recommend Elizabeth's Cottage!!
Cute, clean and comfortable cottage, fully fenced for pets with a quiet country vibe. Conveniently located near Jacksonville’s restaurants, shopping, entertainment and vineyards. Thank you Jess for sharing your place with us. We’d highly recommend staying at the cottage.
