I've stayed here many times over the years as a stop over whilst driving down to the Lot & Dordogne and its a charming and beautiful property with delightful and helpful staff. As a guest with a Gluten Sensitivity the food options were not very impressive though for a property of this calibre, certainly in the year 2023.

We enjoyed our stay at the Monarque Chartres. It is in a very convenient location - walkable to the cathedral and other main sites, lots of restaurants etc. Staff were friendly and efficient. The room was pleasant and spacious with nice decor. Ok for a family of 4 for 2 nights. The hotel offers valet parking for 10 Euro per night which very useful and good value

Very accommodating staff and elegant ambiance set a positive tone for our stay. Proximity to the Cathedral, excellent restaurants, and the historic center of Chartres was ideal. The suite was spacious and well appointed, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. At night our room was a bit noisy, and the stairways required to access our room were cumbersome to navigate with bags. Mold in the shower was a bit off-putting.

Great visit, want to return’

Great service, convenient location to cathedral and medieval ares of city but surrounded by modern shops, banks and post office. Great service. We asked about better lighting for bedtime read in and within three and a half minutes there was a lamp cheerfully delivered to our room. Good laundry service. Great breakfast, good Brasserie and ferric George’s dining room.
