Very comfortable and clean home with gorgeous lakefront! The owner was very friendly and responsive to my communications. It was nice to have the dock for my sister to pick me up on her pontoon! Sunsets are gorgeous!
Visited family who is only 8 min away. House was perfect for our short stay. Cottage is fully stocked with everything. Stacey was very responsive with all my questions prior to leaving and while we were there. Weather wasnt the best, therefore, we did not get to enjoy the outdoors. View from the house is beautiful.
My bride and i were just looking for a nice spot on a lake to relax for a couple of days.
Was perfect for what we needed it for!
Owner is super responsive and hospitable.
The one bad review we read did not match our experience and was mozt likely written by somebody who is allergic to happiness.
Thank you for welcoming us into your home and letting us have a taste of the good life even if only for a couple days.
Cheers!
I will not go to this property again due to the owners and the way they handle things...I wanted to give it a higher rating but after dealing with certain things...I couldn't do it.
We drove 11 hours to stay here and when we showed up the place was dirty. It didn't even look like it was cleaned. The bar area was packed with trash, the flat top grill was overflowing with grease, the oven and stove top had residue and crumbs all over it, every dish or utensil I tried to use was dirty, the kitchen counters were sticky, the freezer had hair, crumbs and orange sticky substance in the bottom of it and the Nespresso coffee machine had an orange substance in the bottom of the water tank. Then the American Flag ripped in half wrapped around their flag pole. Some people that may not bother but for my husband and I who both served...it didn't sit well. I took that down myself. I had to contact the owners and they didn't come out until the next day to clean it. Also had to have them come back out to fill propane tanks.....After dealing with all of that the owner wanted to make sure I was promptly out at 11am or earlier the day I was suppose to leave because she had more clients wanting to look at the house to rent and she needed it to be cleaned. So I made sure to clean up, wipe everything down, and start laundry so the house was somewhat presentable. That I didn't have to do because we pay a $150 cleaning fee, I should have left it how I found it. The owner messaged me later that day....not to say thank you...it was to say she found a repaired hole and was wanting to know if we damaged the wall. I couldn't believe it... we didn't do any damage or repair anything...if we did we would have them know.
Here were some other issues we had to deal with....
- the neighbors (who are extremely close ) are extremely loud all night long!
- there is no a/c and that top room gets extremely hot, plus there are no screens in the windows.
- the beach area is very rocky and not far out is seaweed.
- there are a ton of spiders and flies and they don't clean or spray. Try to sit out on the deck to enjoy the view, you will have a couple new friends...
- Lots of stairs and different levels.
- Loose boards and screws sticking out the walk way.
- Very salty water....don't drink it.
We had a great time. The house was clean. The lake is beautiful. The host was easy to communicate with and very helpful. The neighbors are quiet and no one bothered us at all. It was a great location for us. We have family nearby and didn't have to travel back and forth from Plattsburg. We had plenty of room. We are definitely going to come back next year.
Views from the house were great. The upstairs bedroom was perfect, the lower level rooms were a little smaller, but we made due. Would need to be careful with small children on the deck stairs, we did have one adult trip on them. Kitchen was fully stocked and appeared recently updated. New shower in the bathroom was nice. Overall house was great!
Our vacation was a wonderful experience before we even arrived at the lake house. Stacey was very tentative with what to expect for the check-in process as she let us know there had been upgrades to the house since we last saw the listing. As well as gave us recommendations of local eateries. A very welcoming first impression. Once we arrived we were greated by an open and well stocked kitchen with new appliances. The loft was pure luxury with breathtaking views of the lake and the Adirondack Mountains. The kids loved the addition of a new small bedroom with bunk beds and a TV as that is always helpful when kids are away from home overnight. The little touches made our stay effortless and a true relaxing getaway. Not to mention the fun we had swimming and kayaking in the lake that was just a few stairs away. We very much look forward to staying again next summer.
