We stayed on one of their rooms and we were surprised that is clean and look new, the opposite of their building facade. It is next to the main highway so you will hear alot of trucks passing by. They also have free grab n go stuff for breakfast (granola bars and fruit, coffee and teas)

The price is absolutely ridiculous for this place. The room was clean and everything worked. The smell in the room was awful. There is a hotel across the street that advertised $89 night, which is what this place should have charged. The hotel across the street looked better from the outside. The only good thing is it is about 40 minutes to Crater Lake.

The motel is a historic building which in 1929 was a boardinghouse which now has been renovated to a hotel. The room is newly remodeled and had a spacious remodeled bathroom, which we appreciated. There was freshly brewed coffee, granola bars, apples and a variety of tea in the lobby in the morning.

The room was clean, the ac worked well, the location of this property is good (Crater Lake National Park). Bring earplugs, bring an eye mask if light sensitive while sleeping. The nearby road is busy and ac drowns it out a little. The front desk attendant promised coffee and fruit/ granola bars in lobby at 6:30 am and it still wasn't there when we had to depart at 6:45 am.

The man that checked us in seemed annoyed by us and said about 5 words total. We were in room 1 and it sounded like the trucks were literally going through our room all night. The curtains in the room do not block the lights from the bright lights at the gas station across the street, so the room was not dark. The outside of the hotel is very run down and not maintained, however the room was updated and clean. I would not suggest staying here if you just want a restful night after a long day of traveling and/or visiting Crater Lake. If you do stay, request a room other than room 1 which backs up to the highway. There were motels in Chemult that were further from the highway and advertised half the price we paid.

The Dawson is an older property that is fairly well maintained. The bed was comfortable, the room clean. Chemult was close to our destination, Crater Lake. The locals told us the place was haunted, but we didn't see any spirits!

The history surrounding the building was unique. We stayed in the loft area. It worked for our family of 5 for the night. Checkin was easy and they were friendly. No breakfast options but there was hot coffee, tea and hot chocolate available. Would stay again if ever in the area.

Unique rustic inn close to N.P.

Very friendly owner there to check you in and answer your questions. Felt more like a B&B with unique Decour for each room from the past, appointed with personal touches to this clean rustic road house’s charm. Big wrap around porch to enjoy as traffic goes by, with big convenient store across the street to stock up on any supplies, and parking just outside your door.
