The bar struggled to produce an invoice after payment. It took 30mins to remedy and still get charged the service charge. The breakfast restaurant is very small, so when busy, don’t expect a table.

The location of the hotel is perfect. 10 mins drive from the airport and 20 minutes or less to city center. I am a Platinum elite member and since our checkout was 11:00, we requested a late check out at 4pm with no problem. I was also provided with an upgrade to an executive suite which felt like a true presidential suite. The room is very clean and comfortable. Upon arrival, we were shown the suite and the property facilities. The experience of staying here was exceptional and I would definitely stay again next time in Chennai!

Room service was good. Food was horribly expensive and the hotel doesn’t allow ordering in from Swiggy etc. and literally force people to order in from their insanely expensive food. For instance coffee is about 500 rupees and a plate of dosa is 900 rupees. I would not recommend this for anyone.

I didn't particularly enjoy my stay there. I found bugs in the bed and the pillow covers were not clean. The restroom was also unclean, with mold visible in various places. I would not recommend this hotel for a longer stay. Before checking out, I even complained to the receptionist, but he seemed unconcerned and simply wanted me to leave. The food (buffet) was enjoyable, and the staff were friendly. However, I would not rate this hotel higher than 1 points.

Run down property - desperately needs re vamping.

Lack of maintenance, slow lackadaisical service, with several exceptions, makes one feel that Marriot group management is happy to fill their rooms without offering any improvements innthis fairly old property. One exception whose name is Purnima, stood out and made the otherwise below average stay, cheerful in moments. What is more surprising is that my room mate is a Bonvoy Platinium member and despite declaring this at check in, the reception didnt seem bothered, since I had made the reservation. The food was average. (We hosted a mini school reunion for lunch) - the staff are cheerful in the restaurants. But reception seemed plastic.

You must be careful in this hotel

Hello I want share my experice with another traveller about Le meridien hotel in Chennai. The point is LE ROYAL MERIDIEN HOTEL IN CHENNAI CANNOT TREAT THE CRIME. The hotel employee is a man and he is working in fitness centre (Le mirage) I'm also a man. And the hotel employee did crime to me. (Serious porblem. I can't say details because of the EXPEDIA review policy) I clamied to the hotel manager but they did not give any detail answer. And The manager seems like to protect the hotel employee even not call a police. The manager report to me the result of investigation by e-mail. (Not a police report) According to the report, Everything was my fault. I cannot belive that the hotel belive the criminal's word. They didn't record my statement. I cannot write details but if you want to stay in this hotel You must prepare to protect yourself. (The fitness centre employee still working in the hotel) Everything is true. and I have the e-mail, voice record. I can prove everything.

The room amenities were bad. There was no internet on the first day of stay. No hot shower throughout the stay.
