"Well appointed gite in a very quiet hamlet very close to Azay-Le-Rideau. The gite has been well renovated, has a large garden and is very weĺl equipped. The hosts were charming and helpful and although they lived next door, were very unobtrusive yet always available for advice/help. Would be very happy to come back again."

"We stayed at Le Grand Monarque, Azay-le-Rideau for 3 nights. Everything was great: central location, large room, very quiet and they have a parking location near by. All staff at the reception was wonderful but I would like to give our special thanks to Isabelle. "Lovely 300 year old house. The house is definitely quirky with wood beams and angles to work around upstairs. We stayed over New Years and had a great time. Marie is very interesting and communicative and suggested the Tours Opera for New Year’s Eve which was fun! She is very helpful and gave us suggestions for where to shop, visit etc. Winter in France was a very different experience for us. The Chateaux were lit up and decorated along with shops and streets. A great time to go!"

"From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were looked after very well by Phillipe, Natasha and the staff. Our room was very comfortable, the bathroom was a good size and the shower was very good. However, for us the highest marks should go to to the food. The breakfast had an excellent European choice. The dinners were superb. The menu was changed everyday and there was a limited but good choice of dishes. Every dish was beautifully presented and delicious. The fish and desserts were particularly good. It was a very good price for the quality. We intended to eat there just twice but only ate out at a small restaurant in the village was once. Philippe was very helpful in giving us suggestions for visits. We would definitely stay there again when we next visit France."
