The room (6) was spacious with a good king size bed, but was directly over the kitchens and, with the windows open during summer, there was a fair amount of noise. Since it was a weekend, there were weddings on so the catering staff were working late. The following morning after breakfast we did find the toilets downstairs had been left in a pretty filthy state by the wedding guests, so the cleaners had not yet started their work. "Nice comfortable hotel an easy walking distance from everything in Colchester. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good quality. I liked the fact that breakfast is 'a la carte', as that reduces wastage. Cleanliness is good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!"
