Lake retreat

Short Getaway

It was a nice get away for the kids to enjoy the lake and make a bonfire by the water. Be prepared the house is down a long gravel road and the sand area by the pier was filled with storm debris of tree logs/sticks. Overall, a nice quiet stay.

Amazing property

I believe this was by far the cleanest home we have ever booked. It was so cozy and decorated beautifully. I sit out on the deck every morning with my coffee. Dock was very easily accessed. We went down to fish but took our kayaks too. We would stay here again.

Nice house, convenient location

The house and location were great for us kayaking. Rooms, beds and baths all clean and comfortable. Had to clear some lake debris around the dock from a recent storm, apparently that side of the lake gets all the driftwood. Owner was responsive when a minor issue with TV arose. Neighbors are friendly especially the big dog who wandered over one day.

High School tournament

This was the nicest home we have rented at Buggs Island and we have tried several over the year’s tournament fishing. Clean and comfortable. Only complaint was the gravel access road. My boat got covered in dust. But I would still rent again. My wife wanted to stay a extra day.

Driftwood Dreams

The cottage, and property was absolutely beautiful. The home decor and overall cleanliness was a 5 out 5. The only drawback, and this is coming from someone who likes to travel is I have never experienced the property owners coming to the property while it was being rented out. Not saying that it is a bad thing, just a different experience for me. What was bizarre was one evening while my husband and brother-in-law were fishing two ladies showed up and one of the ladies shared that they had the right of way to the property, instantly making my husband ask, "Is it okay that we are down here", she responded "yes", but felt it necessary to share with him what her ownership in the property was. The very next evening, I am assuming these individuals were the owners of the home showed up, intoxicated, cursing. They were harmless, but none the less very inappropriate in my opinion. As property owners, I would recommend that they decide if they are going to rent just the cottage without access to the lake or both, because it was a very uncomfortable situation to be in. Without hesitation I would have given a 5-star review had it not been for those two particular incidents.

Quiet peaceful beautiful

We had the most relaxing week. The cabin was perfectly situated on the hillside surrounded by trees with the Roanoke River in sight.

Fishing review

The house itself was great. It was clean and updated. The area was quite. The only issues to me is that there was not a grill on the premises. The neighbors huge German shepherd dog came into the house which I thought was cute. He was a gentle giant but my mother and wife was not pleased. We also did not have access to the dock. Theme t door neighbor promised they would fix the dock but did not thru our entire stay so we had to dock our boat somewhere else which we incurred another cost. We also was not able to fish from the dock which was our intended purpose for our vacation.

Beautiful vacation home in a beautiful location

Everything about our weekend getaway to Buggs Island was perfect, starting with this property that was nestled in a quiet location right on the water. The views were amazing from inside and outside the house. The property had all the amenities we needed and it was very clean and well-maintained. We just couldn't have found a better property. The locals in Clarksville are the NICEST people and every restaurant we visited was a great experience. We will definitely be back again.

Lakefront living

My wife and I enjoyed a quiet long weekend on the lake. A lovely home with a private dock. We were able to enjoy our time on the water, and a quick drive to town for groceries and dinner at the brewery. We will be back.

This was a wonderful property. The owner was great in helping me through process. The internet is slow but the area was beautiful. I wish the dock area was cleaned up a little better but this is a 5 star place.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very nice and in a great location to access multiple boat landings. The only issue we had was the Wi-Fi was very slow, which was not a big deal as we spent most of our time on the lake.

Exactly what we were looking for!

Great location. We wanted a lake vacation close to home and this was only an hours drive. Too cold to spend much time outside but we had a great view of the lake from the living room and master bedroom.

Very nice house

We had a wonderful time and the house was very clean and comfortable. My only “complaint” would be that I came during a time of year where the water was a bit murky so we chose not to swim in it. Other than that it was a very nice getaway.
